Why do you like boxing better than MMA?

Boxing is constant action and plus two men hitting each other is much better than two sweaty, slimy men grappling with each other on the ground.

it's mostly because of don king's hair. dana can't compete

I don't really perfer either to the other, to be honest I need both (along with K1). There are advantages and disadvantages to each I guess. Boxing is like any sport, you really have to watch and learn to get the full enjoyment out of it. Its like with MMA, everyone starts off watching MMA to see someone get knocked out, bloodied up, or caught in some kind of painful-looking submission. Then when you learn more you start to appreciate the science of MMA and it becomes more fun to watch because your not just sitting there waiting for someone to get KO'd. Thats kinda the way I see it.

Any true MMA fan would become a big boxing fan as well if they started watching it, came to know some of the characters of boxing past and present, and learned a bit about the science of boxing IMO. Unfortunately there is a lot of ignorance about boxing in the MMA fan base (and vice versa).

I love the way boxing does business as well, as opposed to MMA's current "organization" system. Even if two boxers are signed under different promoters, if the money is there for the fight it can happen, whereas in MMA now we've seen the ugly side of the organization system with the Fedor/Randy thing.

Its like comparing a Guitar (boxing) to a Banjo (MMA)
The guitar can be an amazing thing and the banjo just flat out sucks no matter how good you are at it

No doubt, boxing and MMA both have their merits, but the sheer carnage factor of MMA makes it a much more inspiring sport. When someone is about to lose, watching them fall to the ground unconscious is fun, but it’s much more exciting to see them go out being pummeled in some form of blood inducing ground pound marvel. The loser can’t say "It was a lucky shot" if the footage of their loss clearly shows that they would have died had the ref not stopped the fight.

Most of all for me its the quality of the fights, MMA looks amature compared to Boxing, boxers are in better shape, have better stamina and are better to watch because of it
you wont see Mayweather showing up to a title defence overweight and not prepared or injured
UFC looks like something Vince Macman dreamed up, it truely is catered to appeal to the WWE fan , I feel like im being treated like an idiot everytime I hear Joe Rogans and goldmans voices

Dont get me started on fucking Kimbo headling cards, wtf kind of joke is that?

Ill still watch MMA but I dont care about it anymore like I used to, im sure it will evolve into a good sport one day but its just a destruction derby at the moment

Boxing has recently seen that they NEED to make the big fights fans wanna see happen despite the commissions and mandatories. Witness B-Hop and Joe C in the coming weeks doggy

Boxing also makes for more compelling drama. As soon as 1 good punch or kick lands its generally over in MMA. Not necessarily a bad thing - in a street fight thats whats gonna happen. But by the sporting nature of boxing it allows for the miracle comeback despite somebody being dropped/outclassed etc... etc...

Witness the guy in my sig against JLCastillo to truly see high sporting drama. I don't think i've ever had a whole room jump out of my chair screaming and celebrating after an MMA outcome like after the end of that fight.

That being said I still like both and apprieciate the intricacies involved in MMA also.

EDIT:: The sig photo is actually from after that fight... Look at the fans in the background arms in the air cheering... That kinda atmosphere is electric and you really don't see MMA crowds that are as good as boxing crowds either.

JUST BLEED RETARDS

also check the BMA study quoted in my sig for another reason boxing is better

I whole heartedly agree.

I can't just watch just one (Boxing/MMA/Kickboxing) and agree that watching MMA has lead me to become a boxing fan (even though I still pretty noob to it).

For me the Chico fight defines what boxing is all about. Round 10 of their first fight encompasses the concept of the comeback and shows us what having heart really means.

Also the better fighter almost always wins in boxing. No random upsets happening left and right. Upsets are actually special in boxing.

That explains all the undefeated records in boxing.

Skill at its finest.
Not luck like majority of all MMA.

Other reasons I hate MMA, are there stupid fucking annoying fans.

I'm not saying Upsets NEVER happen or that all MMA is luck... But last year alone there were like 5 or 6 major upsets. If Cotto vs Gomez had been MMA i'd have put money on Gomez just cause so much flukey crap can happen in MMA and there is no chance for somebody to recover from an error. GSP slipping anybody?

Boxing at it's best,is the most exciting thing to watch ever. But for every Gatti/Ward fight, you get a snooze fest that doesn't live up to expectations.MMA is more consistantly entertaining on a fight by fight basis than boxing imo.But I'd take a Barrera/Morales fight over Griffin/Bonnar any day of the week.

It takes alot more balls to become a boxer then a mma fighter so i respect boxing more than mma. Just training, training, training, training. Running running running running running just so they can last 12 rounds in the ring is truly inspiring.
Nowadays everyone in the world can become an mma fighter -_-.
