That was actually the first time I've seen it. It looks like they leave it all in the ring every fight.

There's no Mike Whitehead's in Burmese boxing.

Traditional Burmese boxing (Leithwei) is some nasty stuff. Think muay thai but much much dirtier; there are headbutts and if a fighter is knocked out, they are revived and given the option of continuing. I believe they can be knocked out three times in a fight before it's stopped. These days, there's a sanitised offshoot (still pretty intense shit) called Myanma Traditional which is more marketable, but still dirty enough that Burmese fighters tend to not have much success under MT or kickboxing rulesets

It looked like they were hitting each other on the ground aswell. DO they have some ground striking training aswell or were they being dirty?

I could be wrong on this, but I believe that strikes on the ground are allowed if they occur immediately after a takedown. Leithwei has some pretty nasty takedowns, actually, from what I've seen

Just wraps, no gloves. At least I've never seen a match with any gloves, but I'm not the greatest authority on this style
