I was reading Gilbert Arenas' blog and a question they asked him was concering a change in the structure of the playoffs. The change was abolishing the current system and just taking the top 16 teams.

I don't think this would ever happen. But what do you guys thinkg about the suggestion?

it would destroy the division structure. no secret the west is much better. it has been better for around 10 years. they say its a cycle, no, its not. if it was, it would have changed at least once the last few years. it would be nice, but still give the div. winners some sort of incentive.

yea. it's just too bad. that a team may win 50 games this year and not even make the playoofs

I see your complaints, but it's just the name of the game.

The NFC sucks too, but we don't see them getting less playoff teams than the AFC. It's just the way it goes... At the end of the day, the best from the West plays the best from the East. That should be enough.

I think for that to happen they'd have to make sure the alignment made sense between east/west like moving the twolves & they'd probably adjust the schedule as well. unlikely

I've never liked the division winner getting a higher seed. you shouldn't be rewarded for having a shitty ass division where everyone else is worse then you.

I think the divisions in all sports are just ways to keep fans interested like the wildcard

I'm fine w/a top 8 per conference but fans outisde of the top couple spots in a typical yr would give up.

I would like to see division winners getting a bonus (as motivation) and playoff teams getting more of a bonus.

Then I'll say that teams that need insentive to win and do their best are beyond pathetic.
