What kind of game would you make,

Talk about the story, the gameplay, any cool features, multiplayers support, advertising campaign, and any other important details.

Mine would probably go as follows,

The Story is
Post Apocalyptic scenario as a result of a Nuclear World War, radiation has contaminated the outskirts of societies creating mutations in humans and animals out of deignated clean zones. You and a team of friends go out to research a possible cure somewhere in central Europe, you start to uncover the secrets of this virus and how it ties to Ancient Mayan Predictions (the purging of 2012).

The Gameplay is
A 3rd person shooter ala Gears of War with a similar cover system, vehicles are loose and easy to control like Halo, and you can customize your weapons and vehicles as you progress through the game.

Cool Features is
Customizability, Excellent AI, Havok Physics that allow you to manipulate the environment to put towards your (or the enemies) advantage.

Multiplayer Support
4 player Co-Op throughout the campaign, the squad is made up for 4 people so those not controlled by player characters are substituted with AI.

Advertising Campaign
would be commercials of hot chicks making out, then a narrarator comes in and says "Hot chicks making out have nothing to dow ith this game, but god damn this games rad"

Important Details
Probably the coolest idea for a game ever.

Huh, good question. I would really like to make a 3d online game akin to gladiator. Not the movie per say, but basically a mix of a realistic fighting game/mmorpg.

There would be close to 2 dozen different arenas, varying in size and having multiple obstacles, neutral npc's, set up as a detriment to both parties involved in the game. Examples would be archers on chariots, some kind of uber beast, roided up gladiator, etc., that is just there to impartially fuck everyone up. Plus, the terrain would have spikes, pit traps, panthers/tigers, you name it. All interactive. For instance you could drive an opponent into the spikes or throw them into a tiger pit.

The game types would consist of free for all with up to say 8 gladiators at one time, team vs. team (this is where clans would come into play). As well as, team vs. cpu. The latter being similar to the scene in gladiator where they make the human wall and take out the chariot riders, basically, defend a position for a set amount of time. Or your team could take on some kind of monster, or elite gladiator. Many possibilities.

As for the core mechanics of the online game you would have a global as well as regional ranking ladder system. This would show obvious things like individual wins to losses ratio, team wins to losses ratio, as well as possible achievements based on wins in a row, losses in a row. There wouldn't be a world to have your character run around, ala WoW, just various lobby's akin to something like Diablo, with clan rooms as well. I think for a game like this that's all about PVP it's best just to keep it simple.

I think it's interesting how after WoW's success there have been tons of mmorpgs springing up everywhere that try to have some niche to keep the player hooked for a reasonable amount of time. The one thing I think they all seem to miss the boat on is the actual combat. I hate this target player x and then you let the computer crunch some numbers while you pound your hotkeys and hope that your leet armor will give you the edge. That part of most of these types of games seem to be stuck in puberty and just seems lazy on the developers end.

This game is like taking a dose of WoW and mixing it with equal parts God of War, Devil May Cry and Gladius. What I mean by that is pick up the joystick and put down the mouse. I'm a fast twitch guy, I like to use a joystick, I don't want to press hot keys, I want to parry your axe, cut off your hand and jab my fist claw through your throat with the use of my analog. Think Bushido Blade, only a more advanced parry and evade system on PCP. The one thing I think would appeal to a lot of the hardcore crowd out there in terms of that hook that will make you want to log in again and again is that this game is purely one of skill. It's not about grinding and collecting loot to build up some stat padded character. That can only take you so far, eventually you hit a ceiling and the game quickly becomes boring once you realize that every quest just renders the same result. I'm all for collecting wicked looking armor and weapons to pimp your look out, but it ends there. This game is all about bragging rights. It's just simply about how good are you with said weapon and how tight does your team work together to eliminate the opponent. You look at the guy at the top of the mountain and realize he's a badass, not because he's got some elite lvl weapon that can kill you with one hit. No. He's #1 because he just fucking runs shop on everyone with superior skill and you want to keep playing because you want to beat that guy.

Just to expand on the online some more, this game would incorporate sponsor driven tournaments via the ladder. For instance, things like graphics card giveaways via Nvidia, computer giveaways through Alienware. I mean really, this format is a win, win situation for the consumer and the developer. You play to compete for actual prizes, and it's essentially a very cheap means of advertising that isn't really offensive because in the end you have the opportunity as a player to actually bear the fruits of your labor ala getting free shit for excelling at the game. A lot of companies like Blizzard do this now, but this would just take it to a whole other level.

To sum up, online gladiator game, with team deathmatch and sponsor driven rewards based ladder ranking system with over the top "Bushido Blade" like action with blood, lots of blood.

I got 2.

First is an mmo rpg where you have complete control over your character, his movements, his swings, his blocks, everything. Basically a full-fledged action game that is also an mmo. Age of Conan seems to be a step closer, but I want the sword combat to be like Rune or Jedi Knight where you actually use timing and reflexes. Using a bow would be like shooting in a shooter where you'd actually have to aim. I'm not exactly sure how spell casting would work, but I don't like over-the-top devestating spells anyway. It takes away from the mage "mystique". Small flashy stuff and simple augmentations are way better. Basically an mmo rpg that functions like a full-on shooter.

The second would be a Road Warrior mmo. It would be first person at all times. You can look around in your vehical just like an fps while your vehical continues in the straight direction. You can climb out of the drivers seat and on top your car and jump to another vehical. You will never change perspective no matter where you are sitting. It will always be first person. You do not drive or shoot the direction you look, you drive and shoot the direction you aim. They are seperate. To enter and exit the driver seat, you will just move in and out of it because it is a completely emersive first person experience. You would work for different makeshift factions and drive around looking for gassoline. You would use money to amp up your vehical. You and your allegiance would go on raids and attack random people and take their gas so you will have fuel to continue to go on raids. Save up spare gas and items to pawn and buy weapons and upgrades. Work your way up the tribal ladder. Take over enemy camps. Everything Road Warrior.

If it is not the exact same as I described then just say that they aren't making it because it will be ruined. The reason Road Warrior is the best film ever made is because it is 100% completely emersive and surreal. It pulls you into the fantasy and makes you experience it first hand moreso than any other film that portraits a fictional world. If a game is made and does not utilize my extreme first-person ideal than the whole Road Warrior concept would be ruined. Don't tell me it exists unless I am right on all accounts because if not than the game will not do the movie justice.

The Camera isn't the same as you described but everything else is about the same.

You'll level up your class and as you do you can customize and upgrade your vehicle.

There will be factions on each server you can choose and they will battle for post apocalyptic world(or server) dominance

Thats all we know so far.

i'd go for one that has you colonising planets in a kinda sim city/tiberian sun way with the development/ resources angle with a fps style/ flying game angle for when your walking round your colony or defending it or attacking other colonies.

then you got sub games gta style where you gotta enforce the law or whatever.

so basically you go to a new planet fps style kill/ enslave the enhabitants

design the layout of your base/ town

run it

repeat.

make it online galaxy and have wars gta3 style. but bigger and better.

2 stages initial spacecraft wars where you can win or lose

followed by fall back to ground wars fps style

and hot naked aliens. lots of hot naked aliens.

MGS style gameplay for sure. I love sneaking around and snuffing people. Love it.

That being said: MGS meets FF. Like your cloud-like character is a secret ops guy in the future whatever uncovering a mind-blowing Jenova style conspiracy that will alter the fate of the universe/all alternate universes/past, present, future. MGS gameplay/cut scenes + FF7 style epic RP storytelling and music FTW. Spontaneous jizzm.

A combat rpg taking its cues from Jade empire/kotor/neverwinter/def jam fight for new york and movies like legend of a fighter and fighter in the wind.

Multiple fighting styles, armed and unarmed, with unarmed styles branched in striking and grappling. Of course magic and missle weapon fighting styles. Weapons can be customised or better ones purchased at smiths and such, armour bought and sold, techniques learned from masters and improved by mat time at dojos etc at various points in the game.

The fighting should clone fight for new styles, but allow for stats.

Online partying up like in neverwinter and such, but new adventures added every couple of months containing a choice of new styles and weapons for every type.

Online skirmish mode in which you import your game characters and take other peeps in ranked and unranked skirmishing. At intervals give skirmish rank bonuses.

I want a action rpg like mech warrior but way more customizable with you being able to buy a pethlora of parts that increase all your stats, with of course you being the driver would have special perks. Also this would eliminatate the annoying class based systems everywhere where you can't branch out enough. Melee, ranged, explosives all that shit. hell you could throw in an organic race that takes its parts from the creatures it kills to make a gigantic frankstien like creatures.

A good k-1 game. With a deep career mode and tons of current and retired fighters. I figure an mma game is going to require to much stuff to get right for it to actually be decent. A k-1 game would be a lot simpler to design.
