Just about every bit of down time I get, I either play guitar, or hang out here, or both. I'm usually writing my own stuff, but I love learning great songs. Whats some difficult/fun/awesome songs you guys would suggest?

lol agito. To answer someone's question. I'm usually playing a lot of red hot chili peppers, rage against the machine, sublime, metallica, iron maiden, incubus, FOO FIGHTERS, zep, sabbath, etc etc, or I'm just making up my own stuff and practicing my scales for solos.

I'd like to, but I'm not as good as the finger plucking stuff as I am fast riffs and solos and such.

eruption by van halen. If you can nail that song, you are very good.

no your not,...
eruption is primarly just the tapping technique, and like everything else its easy with alittle practice (which is why 10 year olds all over youtube can play it). It doesnt mean shit if you can play that on an electric with a bunch of distortion but you don't know what a D#7th chord is. Being really good at guitar is not playing fast and certinally isn't playing eruption. Being good is being able to step in with any band at any time and not miss a beat. You have have to be able to play all styles, know theory and have a really good ear, to be a really great guitarist. I see guys trying to wail really fast and shred like there badass when there clearly out of tune...and that says more about their guitar playing then any lick or run he'll ever play

I've been playing for years, and i still consider tapping to be difficult. Maybe it's just me. I feel I'm much better on the acoustic. I'm far from great tho.

you consider tapping difficult because you play too much acoustic,.. if not exclusively by the sounds of it (not like thats a bad thing though) I've been more impressed with a Live acoustic blues performance, then any rock and roll show that I've ever seen

I agree with that, my guitar playing is about 85% acoustic. It's just what I learned on, it feels much more comfortable to me.
