3) Goji Berries - Yes this is my secret recipe on how to run faster. This stuff really works. My grandma uses this stuff to strengthen her patients legs.
4) Sprinting - Puts alot of strentgh into your legs for extra running speed and tackeling noobs on the football field.

peter 03-16-2008, 04:09 PM There are a bunch of training techniques which improve your running technique. Just google it. I can say that with proper weight training you increase your explosive strenght which leads faster running, but you have to be careful not to get too stiff. Right technique is the single most important thing on how to run faster. Best way to do it is to go to the nearest track and field training and ask there.
Buy nice shoes. Just kidding, I wonder why Goji berries are so good? I'm going to google it.

jrelh 03-17-2008, 02:28 AM What me and my friend did to help increase speed and stamina was sprint intervals. Basically we would run a mile every day, of course we didn't keep it up every day but thats besides the point. Every 15yards or so we sprinted, then jogged the next 15yards then sprinted the next. When I say sprint, I mean all out as fast and as hard as you could. We didn't do exactly 15yards though thats just an est. We did it every light pole as a marker.
VENDO 03-17-2008, 02:29 AM Put one leg infront of the other, and do it as fast as you can.
jomomma 03-17-2008, 03:55 AM we used to run this man-made hill called ironically "The Hill" I mentioned in the Plex/nfl draft thread. A lot of pro's worked out there but you can subsititute a real hill either in a park, by a bayou
I did a version of what jrehl did: on a track, sprint the straights about 90% of top speed, jog the curves
jog, not walk, then sprint the straight again. start w/a half mile (2 laps) then build up to a mile
blevunly 03-17-2008, 04:37 AM What kind of running? cross country running, 100 meter, 400 meter, 1 mile?

sprawl 03-17-2008, 09:44 AM here's a great exercise you can do with your friends:
start running in a column,10-15 meters apart from one to another.the last guy need to sprint to the head of the column (while everybody are still runningof course ) and take the lead about 10-15 meters ahead of the last leader (keeping the same formation).once he reached the head of the line, the guy who became last does the same and so on.
if you are 5 people keeping a 10 meters gap from each other, the last guy will need to sprint over 50 meters more than the other guys.because everybody keeps running,it turns out to be something like 75 meters per sprint, depends on how fast you run and how fast the guy sprints.
another killer exercise is playing basketball one on one on a full court.technicaly you need to do it over a 40 minutes period of time but i felt like dying after 15 so good luck with that.
Leftcard 03-20-2008, 07:46 PM haha nice. I used to do that with a friend, we used to sprint a mile non stop.

ItBurnzWhenIP 05-05-2008, 03:05 AM plyometrics for explosiveness... Sprints... Hypoxic swimming specifically and hypoxic training in general... acclimating to altitude then running insanely hard at a lower altitude. There are many things you can do to run faster and train to run faster.
