- Retired basketball coach Bobby Knight will not become TNA’s first-ever “head coach.” A spokesman for Texas Tech University contacted TNA to inform them that Knight would not take them up on their offer, nor would he tape a brief segment for TNA Impact, according to a story posted on the TNA website. “We knew luring Coach Knight to TNA wrestling was a long-shot, sort of like a half-court shot at the buzzer, but we had to give it a shot,” Jeff Jarrett is quoted as saying. “The door is always open to Coach Knight.”
