WWE Raw Report - 2/25/08

-We get highlights of Cena winning his way into the WWE Title Match at WrestleMania and then HUNTOR laying out Cena and Orton and standing tall.

Regal is in the ring with TRIPLE HAITCH, Randy Orton and John Cena. They will compete at WrestleMania in a triple threat match. Regal has set this up as a photo opportunity. Oh this can't end well. They all get to share some thoughts now. Cena thanks HHH and Randy for coming out, because he has an issue with one of them. He was raised to man up and say it to his face. He's angry with HHH. He thanks HHH for not robbing him of his chance, but he did not appreciate the pedigree. He has an issue with that. HHH says no thanks are needed, he just did what was right. He wants Cena in the ring at WM. While he didn't appreciate the pedigree, but a lot of fans did, it doesn't matter, Cena better get used to it because he'll eat one at WM. Cena brings up their first clash and that HHH tapped out. HHH drops the jacket and looks pissed, but Orton stops that. He says he'll remain the champion. Both of them have given him their best, but he still has the WWE title. He then says the champ is here to mock Cena. Orton doesn't think there is anything they can do about it. HHH and Cena begin to kick his ass and toss him to the floor. Cena and HHH stand off and they brawl! Orton back in…RKO to HHH! RKO to Cena! Regal looks on in glee as the champ stands tall! The crowd hates Orton.
-34-days to WrestleMania!
-Orton walks. Kennedy finds him and mentions WM. He says he will win MITB, and he will cash it in that night and will have to pin who ever is the champion. If Orton wins, he will also be losing, just so that there are no surprises. Orton says he is walking out of Wm the champion, threats or not.
-JR and the King officially welcome us!
NON-TITLE MATCH: Santino and Carlito w/ Maria vs. Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes
Santino and Cody to begin. They shove, rights and then a slam by Cody. A knee drop follows, Irish whip and Santino hits hard. Boots and rights by Cody, a hip toss and then Cody is whipped into Carlito. Santino attacks, gets a takedown and tags in Carlito. He beats down Cody, clubbing shots and a cover for 2. Lefts by Carlito and a cover for 2. Chinlock by Carlito, Cody fights out and but Carlito gets a neck breaker for 2. A tag to Santino now, Cody manages a Russian leg sweep and both men are down. Tag to Carlito and Holly. Holly cleans house, and then trips into the ropes. Backdrop to Carlito and King hits on Maria. Santino levels Holly and gets distracted by Maria talking to King and gets tossed off the top. Alabama Slam by Holly and that is all.
Winners: Rhodes and Holly @ 4:14 via pin
-Maria checks on Santino, who is pissed and yells at King.
WRESTLEMANIA PRESS CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS
We get highlights of Show apologizing last week and Mayweather coming to the ring and eventually accepting the challenge of Show. Now we head to highlights of the press conference. Mayweather throws out some cash and says he is money and is THE show. Show promises to show him that wrestling is very real. This was lots of video and music with some sound bites.
-Todd is with Regal. Tonight's main event will be Kennedy and Orton vs. HHH and Cena. Jericho is there now and they mock each other's hair. Jericho makes a tea joke, special blend, and Jericho wants to be in the MITB match. Regal says he has to qualify for the bout. He should have a special opponent, a man already in the MITB match, a man that pinned him in the chamber, Jeff Hardy. The match is next.
Money in the Bank Qualifier/NON-TITLE MATCH: Jeff Hardy © vs. Chris Jericho
Hardy's MITB spot and title are NOT on the line. Lock up and to the ropes they go, and we get a clean break. Lock up, hammerlock by Jericho and then into an arm bar. Jeff flips and kips out and gets a wristlock. Jericho counters with a side headlock, off the ropes and a shoulder block by Jericho. Another, but the third try is met with a hip toss. Another and a roll up by Jeff for 2. Jeff to the apron, Jericho misses the dropkick and Jeff then gets a cross body, Jericho rolls through and covers for 2. Jericho back with a vertical suplex and elbow drop for 2. Jeff counters a dropkick and catapults Jericho to the floor. Baseball slide missed, both back in and they stand off. We head to a commercial @ 3:10.
VINCE APOLOGIZES
Vince is out to the ring, supposedly to apologize for what happened to Hornswoggle last week. He says he has an admission to make, he made a mistake. This is difficult for him to say, but for the first time he made a mistake. The mistake was last week when he allowed his own son to be put in jeopardy. Yes he whipped him with the belt, but he had that coming to him. What he didn't have coming to him is what JBL did to him. He knows Hornswoggle is watching, and he apologizes for that. He isn't the only one that will apologize tonight, the person who put his son in this position will apologize as well. Get out here right now Vince says.
JBL comes to the ring now. Vince threatens to beat the hell out of JBK in front of these people. Vince says JBL was there to keep Finlay in check, not to beat down his son. Vince wants an apology and wants it now. "I'm sorry." He is sorry that he didn't do it sooner! JBL says that he has it on good advice that Hornswoggle is NOT his son! This ruse that made Mr. McMahon look like a fool goes all the way to the top, straight to Vince's family. Hornswoggle is NOT his son. Hornswoggle is Finlay's son! Vince doesn't know whether to believe this or not, but it does make sense. Vince knows that his family is rotten to the core. He has wondered if he could have produced a mutant like that. JBL says that Hornswoggle had no idea about this. He had no idea. FINLAY KNEW the whole thing the entire time. JBL apparently has documentation of this. Vince says if he doesn't get it he will give JBL a beating. JBL says to look in Finlay's eyes because they are guilty as hell. JBL promises to make Finlay admit it.
-Cena comes to visit HHH. They joke about the cliché conversation they are supposed to have. They agree that they don't like each other. HHH wants no part of the match, but he does want to win. He tells Cena to try and not get beat. Cena then says he feels the same way. Cena then says HHH should watch hs back.
Umaga vs. DH Smith
Umaga kicks Smith to the floor, and that had to suck. Chops by Umaga and back in they go. Umaga up top…BIG SPLASH connects. To the corner and Umaga gets the Samoan Clambake. The Samoan Spike finishes it. Did DH fail another wellness test?
Winner: Umaga @ 1:35 via pin
- Burchill, Katie and Regal all share some tea backstage. Vicky Guerrero sent him a letter about a match at WrestleMania for bragging rights. Regal plans to send Umaga. Katie then says Burchill should represent Raw. Regal says he likes him and he has a future but has to show Regal some more. They promise to have more chats and sex later. Burchill basically was pimping out his sister. Nice.
Lance Cade w/Trevor Murdoch vs. HBK
The teacher vs. the student it is. I still want to see the HB-CADE gimmick. Lock up and a headlock by Cade. Off the ropes and a shoulder block by Cade. Another and then a back suplex gets 1. Off the ropes and a backslide by HBK gets 2. Cade comes back with a neck breaker and a cover for 2. Knees by Cade, into a neck vice now. HBK fights to his feet, rights to Cade, chops and then off the ropes and a boot by Cade. Cade slams HBK to the corner, an Irish whip and HBK with a boot to Cade. Chops, off the ropes and a side effect by Cade connects. Cade up top…ELBOW DROP MISSES! HBK now up top and the ELBOW DROP CONNECTS! HBK tunes up the band, Murdoch tries to stop him, fails and then HBK gets the reverse Indian death lock but Murdoch is in for the DQ finish.
Winner: HBK @ 3:45 via DQ
-They beat down HBK a bit, try the hi-low and fail as HBK makes his own comeback and wipes them out with superkicks. HBK is bleeding from the nose again.
-Flair is now out as HBK gets a towel for his bloodied nose. HBK bows to Flair as he enters the ring. They hug and Flair has something to say. Flair offers him a handkerchief instead of the towel, how sweet. He was honored to have HBK announce him for the HOF last week and HBK says he deserves it. Flair explains that this is a highlight, and it will be a magical weekend. And there is only one thing to make the weekend better, to make it more magical. Flair wants to wrestle the man who is synonymous with WrestleMania, HBK. He wants HBK at Mania. HBK says he meant every word of what he said, but Vince laid the law down and when Flair loses, his career is over. HBK admits that he has done things he is ashamed of, but he cannot imagine not having Flair around. He'll fight anyone, but will not be known as the guy that ended Flair's career. He doesn't want it. Flair says that isn't where he was going with that. Not end his career, is that a given he asks? HBK says he didn't mean it like that. Flair says to make this clear, they have respect, but the words mean nothing if Flair doesn't have the chance to have a great match on the grandest stage of them all. All the respect means nothing. HBK then says it would be his honor and they shake and hug. HBK even holds the ropes open for Flair.
-Mike Adamle is still employed and discusses Flair going into the Hall of Fame. He then introduces the next inductees…The High Chief Peter Maivia and Rocky Johnson. And yes this means Rock agreed to do the Hall of Fame ceremony. Awesomeness.
-Signed for WM is a "Bunny Mania" match featuring Maria and Candice vs. Melina and Beth Phoenix.
-We get video on Maria and her Playboy photo shoot. They will show the cover next week.
John Cena & HHH vs. Randy Orton and Kennedy
Cena and Hunter cleared the heels from the ring just seconds after the bell sounded. They stood face to face before the break. [C] Cena did the “You can’t see me” hand gesture when he tagged Triple H into the match. Hunter responded with a crotch chop. However, Kennedy nailed Hunter with a shot to the thigh and Triple H spent the next few minutes selling for the heels.
[Overrun] Hunter made the hot tag to Cena, who worked over both heels. He set up Kennedy for the FU, but Orton broke it up. Triple H ran in and brawled with Orton to ringside. Cena caught Orton in the STFU for the submission win.
John Cena and Triple H beat Randy Orton and Mr. Kennedy at 10:55.
After the match, Triple H and Cena faced off again. Kennedy snuck up behind Cena and hit the Mic Check. Kennedy’s music played while he stood on the stage. In the ring, Hunter stood over the fallen Cena. “The Game survived this week,” Ross said. “Who will survive next week?”...
