ok...so i was at wrestling practise, n we were all messing aroundn, cuz wrestling is almost over. Then i was doing sum jitsu wit this bigggg guy (he didn't even know wut ju jitsu was) and I pulled him into my guard. All of the sudden he puts both hands around my throat and starts leaning over (so i can't arm bar him) and chokes me out!!!


how the fuck do i defind that?


p.s: this guy is wayyyyyy bigger than me, and kepted out muscling me when i tried getting wrist controll and every thing

what do you mean by leaning over, was he stacking you? cuz then you should have a ton of options. that shit he pulled is kinda like the can opener, you should never be submitted by it, but if its your first time experiencing it you might not know what to do and just tap. since maybe i don't understand what you are saying or how much bigger this guy is than you then maybe at the next practice just tell him to do the same thing but tell him not to squeeze or choke you, then just think and look at what opens up to you and try some stuff out ... could you grab his ankle with your hand or open your guard and start trying to isolate his leg, and are you sure there is now way you could armbar him because when somebody throws that garbage choke at you they are usually asking for you to hip out and swing your leg around and tap them, they are basically setting the armbar up for you.

and also, try opening your guard and bringing either knee in towards your chest and you should be able to slip it in between his arms and break his grip or go to butterfly guard and push him away (butterfly guard = open your guard up and put your feet on his hips)

Remember that you don't always have to be able to muscle the guy onto his back to armbar him. Get your hips out, trap the arm, then go out the back door. I think the technical term is an inverted armbar? Not sure though.

np ... and i was also thinking some good examples to watch would be fedor armbarring coleman or hong man choi ... he traps the arm, hips out and swings his leg in front of their faces really smoothly and gets the armbar with ease. i remember in the first coleman fight coleman was kinda posting his arm right next to fedors neck or head, which is probably similar to where the guy had his arm when he was choking you, and fedor took his arm immeadiately

Press your arms to your torso and drive them up under his hands and past your face until you can overhook him. You would have such a core strength advantage that there's no way he could keep his hands there.

You could also throw your arms over his arms/hands and cross them and then push down where his hands meet his wrists as you scoot away.

no matter how big or strong, no one should tap u while they're in ur guard. attack a thumb, scoot hips and go for an armbar

If someone much bigger than you is stacking you, and they keep everything tight then it's really hard to get the armbar. Try putting both feet on his hips and push away to create some space. To defend the choke, bridge onto your right side/shoulder then slide your left arm in between his arms and deeply overhook his right arm. Turn back onto your back and it should remove his right hand from your throat. Either repeat on the other side, or just pull his head into your chest to negate his left hand.

If you want to armbar him, then cross your arms over his wrist area, put your chin down, puff your chest out, and push away. The choke will be off, then if you twist alittle to the left or right while still trapping his wrists he will be setup for an armbar.

if he is leaned over then his posture is probably out of wack. when he dose that engage the hips to get some of the weight off reach under one of the knees and sweep. if the guy isnt doing that then just reach up underneath the wrists and lift towards your head to get ride of the leaverage. or when you pull guard just get a deep over hook before he can do that and set up triangles and sweeps.

this is kind of hard for me to explain with out either demoing it for you or showing pics so here is a link of the double armbar that you could of done. Works just fine with out GI but you will need to grab the wrists tight or use a cross wrist grab if you are sweaty to lock it down more

oh and if you just want to escape you need to control his arms with a cross wrist grab and make more room by opening your guard and putting your feet on his hips and push him a way then take one foot and hook it over one of his extended arm on the same side and straighten your leg it will break his hold on you for sure and basically you have escaped what you do after that depends on what the other person does.

no matter what, if you have guard you should be subbed. He cant stack and choke you at the same time.
