all time is hakeem the dream. top 10 all time in points, blocks & assists as a 6'10" center (robert horry is 6'11") brought unreal athleticism & touch from his yrs playing soccer & handball while raping some of the all time greats on a nightly basis

currently: tony parker, dwayne wade, ben gordon - all 3 smaller guys who are fearless attacking the hoop and finish vs much bigger guys. saw wade play in person during some UH/Marquette games.

Crawling up the list of favs are newer Celtic stars Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett. Yao Ming is starting to become my boy as well. Its too bad the Duke Jay Williams got hurt he woulda been up there at the top of the list as well.

Gillespie is a bum. The players are not improving at all under his tutelage. Anyways Jason Williams was the man in Sacramento with his flash but his shooting percentage was awful. Now hes had injuries and is a step slower. Riley doesn't give him the freedom to do what he wants. Williams originally toned down his flash in Memphis playing under Hubie Brown.

NEW ORLEANS -- Hakeem Olajuwon and Patrick Ewing, who battled for NCAA and NBA titles, and Miami Heat coach Pat Riley were selected as finalists Friday for the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Holdover candidates Chris Mullin, Adrian Dantley, Dennis Johnson and Golden State coach Don Nelson also are among the 15 candidates for enshrinement.

Olajuwon and Ewing both played in three Final Fours, with Ewing's Georgetown team beating Olajuwon's Houston squad for the 1984 national championship. Olajuwon got his revenge as a pro, leading the Houston Rockets to the first of two straight titles with a seven-game victory over Ewing's New York Knicks in the 1994 NBA Finals.

Riley coached that New York team. He won four NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers, then grabbed another one two years ago with the Heat.

"Having Patrick Ewing inducted with me would be incredible," Riley said in a statement. "To have one of my favorite all-time players that I coached, be inducted at the same time, if it were possible for both of us, would have a special added meaning for me."

The other candidates include: Richie Guerin and Johnny "Red" Kerr, both former players and coaches; ESPN announcer Dick Vitale; Detroit Pistons owner Bill Davidson; former Immaculata women's coach Cathy Rush; former Duke coach Victor Bubas; and international committee finalists Togo Soares and Maciel Ubiratan Pereira of Brazil.

The class of 2008 will be announced April 7 before the NCAA men's championship. The induction ceremony is set for Sept. 5 in Springfield, Mass.

Not to be Bias but Len would have brought a few titles to Beantown had he not fucked up. R.I.P.
Jordan was the best I've ever seen as a complete player. He could dominate defensively and his scoring obviously was unstoppable but he kept the defense honest with his passing and was the best at knowing when to take the big shot or when to pass to his teammates. No superstar had the judgement that MJ had. LBJ is one of my favorites just because there is no player in the NBA better than him right now.

I am a big Kobe supporter but in my opinion Lebron has surpassed Kobe. With a terrible supporting cast Lebron tucked the Pistons into bed and got his team to the NBA Championship last season scoring 29 straight points for the Cavs to seal the deal. That alone did not put him ahead of Kobe. What has put him ahead of Kobe is his dominance in the 4th quarter, his dominance of Kobe when they play head to head (Cavs have beaten the Lakers 5 straight), and his unbelievable vision. Kobe is a score first player. Lebron is a pass first player that happens to average 30 points a game. Lebron has begun his reign as a lockdown defender as well.

i see what you're saying. i don't think he takes over the 4th quarter though against good teams. it's usually toronto and shit. kobe will take that shit over against anybody. kobe is also more clutch. but like i said i see what you're saying and i'm sure king james will be #1 in a year or 2. oh yeah and lebron even said he's not at kobe's level yet and says kobe is the best player in the game.

Lebrons a great guy and willing to give credit where credit is due. Last game they played sealed my decision though when Lebron and Kobe guarded each other in the final 2 minutes and Lebron outscored him 6-0. I think Kobe is the best scorer in the NBA and has the most venom in his veins but if I were to start a team and Kobe and Lebron were the same age I would go with Lebron. Certainly room for argument though as they are the best 2 swingmen in the game by far.

Rockets players can have unbelievable endorsements because Chinas population is never ending and Yao is the biggest star from China in the United States. Thats why Yi was left off of the all-star ballot because they knew he'd be voted in unfairly. In the United States however the NFL is much bigger than the NBA. Globally NBA players are more popular because other countries are pussies and can't/ are too scared to play football. I think Lebron could have played in the NFL (anyone can get hurt at any time) but I think guys like Allen Iverson who they said could have played would have gotten crushed. LBJ is a locomotive.
