Scientologists r given filtering software from their 'church' as to not be able to access the below super secret upper level materials. It takes years of indoctrination to condition the individual to a point where the below can indeed to taken as literal fact.
Hubbard goes as far as to tell followers that if they skip to a higher level they will 'freewheel' through crutial incidents & either go insane or catch pneumonia & die!
Read OT level3 in the mentally ill L.Ron.Hubbards own handwriting.
This must be taken as literal fact in order to complete it & progress to the next level.
[Both Cruise & Travolta are OT7.]

Scientology is not even a cult. Its an international business. It gained religion status in order to avoid paying federal taxes. The upper level members make loads of cash and you have to pay out your ass to move up. If you want to fuck with a scientologist, ask them how much they have paid to their "religion" to get where they are. There was a group of them at the mall a few months ago giving free stress tests with some kind of electronic device. Don't remember what they were calling it. I asked the guy how much money he has spent on scientology and the dude turned real RED and was embarassed as hell. He wouldn't tell me.

Oh yeah, I read a quote somewhere and Hubbard said, "Want to become a milionare?....start your own religion"

Does anyone know if this is true? do they really believe this crap?
They sure do. Hubbard himself was certainly no fool, a paranoid, schitzo meglomaniac indeed, but not a fool.He built a global empire complete with an intelligence bureau that has been quoted as rivalling that of many countries. He attracted 1000's of adoring devotees & accumulated millions of $$ in the process.
His 'church'[eeeeek]sells a philosophy that is marketed on raising human abilities & awareness, attaining enlightenment, handling lifes many problems etc..The 'church' catch phrase is that it is the only path to attaining 'total freedom'.
The adherent undergoes a series of training routines & courses that are initially beneficial,Hubbard used the concept of helping people in order to gain trust & inevitably control them to suit his aims.

While the upper level doctrines appear too ridiculous to believe, they are indeed believed wholeheartedly by scientologists. These upper level scriptures are unveiled after many years of membership,& not to mention 1000's of $$.Only after a step by step gradual gradient of indoctrination can the scientologist be ready to accept such space opera as literal fact, without this necessary sophisticated manipulation over an extended period the teachings of OT3 & other levels simply wouldn't take,or be accepted as actual truth.

The idea of Cruise,Travolta,DRs,lawyers & many other educated folk who believe Hubbards horseshit is testament to the power of the mechanisms he uses to control & brainwash.Hubbard achieves this so thoroughly that Scientologists are generally beyond reproach & believe Hubbard to be the greatest humanitarian who ever lived.

Anyways, that's enough blathering. Here is Operating thetan level 3[OT3]This is actual upper level church scripture as validated in court.

.................OT3.................
The head of the Galactic Federation (76 planets around larger
stars visible from here) (founded 95,000,000 years ago, very
space opera) solved overpopulation (250 billion or so per planet,
178 billion on average) by mass implanting. He caused people to
be brought to Teegeeack (Earth) and put an H-Bomb on the
principal volcanos (Incident II) and then the Pacific area ones
were taken in boxes to Hawaii and the Atlantic area ones to
Las Palmas and there "packaged".

His name was Xenu. He used renegades. Various misleading
data by means of circuits etc. was placed in the implants.

When through with his crime loyal officers (to the people)
captured him after six years of battle and put him in an
electronic mountain trap where he still is. "They" are gone.
The place (Confederation) has since been a desert. The length
and brutality of it all was such that this Confederation never
recovered. The implant is calculated to kill (by pneumonia etc)
anyone who attempts to solve it. This liability has been
dispensed with by my tech development.

One can freewheel through the implant and die unless it is
approached as precisely outlined. The "freewheel" (auto-running
on and on) lasts too long, denies sleep etc and one dies. So be
careful to do only Incidents I and II as given and not plow
around and fail to complete one thetan at a time.

In December 1967 I knew someone had to take the plunge. I did
and emerged very knocked out, but alive. Probably the only one
ever to do so in 75,000,000 years. I have all the data now, but
only that given here is needful.

One's body is a mass of individual thetans stuck to oneself or
to the body.

One has to clean them off by running incident II and Incident I.
It is a long job, requiring care, patience and good auditing.
You are running beings. They respond like any preclear. Some
large, some small.

Thetans believed they were one. This is the primary error.
Good luck.

The scientologist must now telepathically communicate with these pesky little space fleas & remove them one by one. This will inevitably go on for the rest of their life.OT4-OT8 deals with exactly how to do this correctly.
OT8 in fact deals with a cognition that Hubbard is God.

True.He even says Jesus was a 'lover of young boys'.

Ummm..... read a book on it. It has a lot of great things to offer and is very buddhist like. If you guys have specific questions, I will answer them. A few freinds of mine are Scientologists.....they are all doctors...... anyways I am not, but bought a 600 page tall hard bound book on it that is pretty much a summary of EVERYTHING. So if you have questions that are legit (not just trying to get laughs.....although I love that south part episode :) ) I will do my best to look up answers to them.

However, because it is a way of living (a philosophy) there are volume and volumes on books. On everything from how to conduct ethical business to books on beating and moving past personal demons from childhood. Again, the book I have is a giant overview.... so I'll do my best.

After reading this thread as a whole..... no offense but most of you are talking out your asses ( what a shocking thing to happen on the forums!). Some of the comments people made do nothing other than to make you look ignorant.
You clearly know nothing of scientology, have done no real research (what a youtube video... look closer), and have probably never held more than a 30 second conversation with one. If you want real answers you're gonna have to dig deeper.

No offense intended.... I know we're all here to mentally masterbate, but having read the whole book.... I can honestly say I was very impressed with the practice and teachings.

You can argue all day over the dead people, L. Ron Hubbard today his both critics and many fans. By anyones account he was an extrodinary man. His lifes history is hotly debated. Some say he was a con man, merely a SCI FI writer with bad grades. Others including prominent scientists and entrepeueners of the early 20th centuru claimed him brilliant, a teenager who traveled to asia, africa, the south pacific all before 20 (this is in the early 1900s) constantly seeking answeres to sci and philosphicla questions. He was an inventor (look at all the patents), philospher, writer etc.... a true renassiance man.

Point is----- don't listen to me or anyone else. Read Dianetics to start and then tell me if you question his intelligence.

Ps---- the main reason a lot of lay people have a problem with scientology and hubbard is because of his wife. After his death, she tried to twist and rewrite important parts of his work. This caused an outrage by his students.... and was a point of cotention, and still is, amongst the scientolgoy community to this day.

Editorial Reviews

Book Description
Is there such a thing as "too far" when it comes to searching for the ultimate answers to life? Never.
But an important discovery has been made which you should know about.

Who are you? Where do you come from? Where are you going?

Did you ever wonder if the answers were sitting right under your nose?

So here’s something different.

No mumbo jumbo. No initiation. No human sacrifices. Just the facts.

And they pack more punch than anything you ever studied on the subject of the mind, spirit and life.

Real answers work. They lead somewhere. You can use them. That’s Scientology.

Scientology is used by people of all walks, races and faiths. It can restore honesty and trust, create happiness, raise I.Q. and improve personality.

I got a question.
How can one be a christian, muslim scientologist when christianity teaches that there is one life in which we are judged to either heaven or hell & scientology teaches that we keep re-incarnating?The 2 teachings are fundamentally opposed.

The_attack

You can't be a christian and a scientologist, they just don't mesh together. Here is a passage I took out of Wikipedia's section of scientology

"The revealed beliefs in Scientology at higher levels become increasingly contradictory with other religions. The concept of past lives in Scientology is at odds with Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Beliefs concerning the origins and age of the Earth, the root of evil, and the nature of man make it impossible to uphold the beliefs of most other religions while also being a Scientologist. Hubbard claimed that Islam was the result of an extraterrestrial memory implant, called the Emanator, of which the Kaaba is supposedly an artifact. Mainstream religions, in his view, had failed to realize their objectives: "It is all very well to idealize poverty and associate wisdom with begging bowls, or virtue with low estate. However, those who have done this (Buddhists, Christians, Communists and other fanatics) have dead ended or are dead ending.""

You may have read a book about scientology (probably a very one sided one used to try to recruit new members) but i have also done hours of research, and talked to an ex-scientologist. You keep paying more money and as you move up they start to tell you crazier and crazier things.
One of the things hubbard claimed was that one of our closs ancestors are clams.... clams aren't even vertbrates.

He claimed that the reason we have problems is because of the unconscious pain of tramatic events that happened in our past lives, some of which predated our human lives. He says that this has been building up for tens of TRILLIONS of years. our universe isn't even nearly that old.

Hubard is nothing but a science fiction writter. After he started scientology, he started to give medical advice that he had no qualifications to give, and they could be potentially dangerous.
one thing he thought was that a baby shouldn't be breast fed. He came up with a barley formula as a replacement. This formula was actually dangerous because it had honey which can cause infant botulism. The formula also lacked nutrients.

The list of wacked out teachings of his goes on and on

I'd like to hear blackass' thoughts on all this.

He was an inventor (look at all the patents)
That's a new feather in Hubbards already crowded cap. What did he invent?

Here's a quote from Bent Corydons book on Hubbard.:
Around this time, Volney Matthison, whose electro-psychometer
had been used by Hubbard and many Scientologists, had fallen into
disfavor. He had refused to surrender the patent to his invention. It
was the Matthison E-Meter, and Matthison was determined to keep
it that way. So in late 1954 the use of the E-meter was discontinued
by Hubbard.
Wrote Hubbard:

Yesterday, we used an instrument called an E-Meter to register
whether or not the process was still getting results so that the auditor
would know how long to continue it. While the E-Meter is an interest-
ing investigation instrument and has played its part in research, it is
not today used by the auditor....As we long ago suspected, the in-
tervention of a mechanical gadget between the auditor and the pre-
clear had a tendency to depersonalize the session....

In 1958 Don Breeding and Joe Wallis developed a modified, smaller,
battery operated version of Volney Matthison's device, which they pre-
sented to Hubbard. It was christened the Hubbard electrometer. What
a difference a name makes!
As you probably guessed, E-meters were suddenly once again essen-
tial to auditing!
.........................................
Ahh yes... Hubbard the inventor.

I had a dream about Scientology last week. It was either set at night time or the dream was in black and white.
The Scientologists were putting on what looked like a play, and there was a volcano in the background. Oddly it was one of those dragons the chinese have in their parades. They were using it to coerce the other 'inductees' and they were getting scared. It concluded with them putting a pair of brainwashed newbies into what looked like giant bottle-rockets , ye know the kind that get fired off around Halloween, and shot them off into to the night sky looking like shining stars.. presumably back to wherever Scientology teaches is the homeworld. Then one came falling back to earth.
