man i've been lookin to buy a cheap car and lately i've been on craigslist alot and autotrader but man, have i found alot of good cars being sold wayy under price So of course i wanted to know wat was the reason, so i emailed them and all of them reply with different stories of how they used to in the us and they moved to the uk, most stories are that their wives like to be close to the parents and they cant take the cars with them or they miss their country anyways they just want to ship the car and have me checked it out if i like it or not then he'll just sell it to someone else well, sorry this is pretty damn confusing, but does anyone know wat im talkin about and if its a scam or bullshit stuff not to mess with or am i gonna end up paying as much as a full price vehicle? i guess my question is any bros hook me up with a lil info?

get their VIN numbers and run them on a site like carfax.com or www.free-vin-check.com/free_vin_check.htm

compare prices & quality with a consumer reports guide that you can find at major bookstores or www.kbb.com edmunds.com/used & www.carfax.com/DP_Rpt_Links/Edmunds_Award_Winners.cfm

if you cant test drive a car before buying it, don't buy it. i don't get the buying the car on the internet thing man, i cant fathom buying a car without test driving it, doesn't make sense to me.

if it seems like it's too good to be true, it probably is.

DO NOT BUY A CAR OFF THE INTERNET.

Insist on at LEAST a couple hours to test drive any vehicle you buy, even if it's a $1000 beater.

(I need to make an automotive advise thread.)

exactly what Zere and Shaggydoo said. why would you want to buy a car off the internet without test driving it. pay 1000's of dollars to buy a car, when it gets shipped to you there's no motor in it. lol. silly ass people.

Only buy lemons. Those are the best cars from what I hear.
