After the departure of Konnan, it looks like there might be even more bad news on the way for fans of LAX. Homicide was a guest on Wrestling Observer Live radio over the weekend, and said that he will eventually need to have shoulder surgery to fix and longtime nagging injury. He will have to miss months of action due to the surgery.
Konnan left TNA on extremely bad terms, after contract negotiations went bad in the midst of his serious medical issues. Konnan wanted more money, but TNA felt that he wasn’t worth it since he could only be used on the microphone as a mouthpiece for LAX and not in the ring due to his health problems. His departure as LAX’s mouthpiece ended up being why certain members of TNA management soured on LAX’s major push because they now don’t have anyone who can cut strong promos like Konnan.
LAX is viewed as one of TNA’s hottest acts with the most potential to be big stars for the company. Hernandez, the 300 pound high-flyer, began training intensely for the anticipated LAX push which never came after Konnan left the company. As of press time, the chances of Konnan returning to TNA are slim to none.
