Alright. It was a city of 250k people. Riversdale in Saskatoon. Fucking straight up pawn shops and hobos every god damn street corner. My mom worked her balls off at a shitty minimum wage job and we boarded in an un-finished basement and I slept on a piss rank smelling mattress.

We often had 5 bucks between the two of us for a week's worth of food and my mother was too proud to ever goto the food bank. I cannot even describe my rage when I would see people eat fast food and here I was, a kid, not eating at all.

I had like no clothes and the ones I did have were 50cent specials from the local used clothing shop. I hung out with only black and native kids. We saw what we called "strangers" all the time, now realizing they were all low level dealers.
