View Full Version : Anyone got a PSP here?
GCSD Fighter 01-03-2008, 10:13 PM I ran a search and found nada.
I was going to get one (the new slim), but had a few questions about multimedia playback, largest memory stick available, and can i DL games instead of buying?
What formats of multimedia does it support at what res and is it simple to recode?
What is the largest memory stick duo it will take/I can get for it?
Can I just DL games and maybe play them from memory card?

Can I just DL games and maybe play them from memory card? yes but it requires you to play them from the memory stick. Something about firmware and what not. It seemed really simple when it was explained to me.
I was thinking about getting one too cause it's cheap as hell but i'm still on the fence.
GCSD Fighter 01-04-2008, 12:18 AM I was more interested in the multimedia function than gaming, but games and sat nav would be cool. I need to know how many films etc I can fit on a stick and what formats and resolutions. You're right, they aint expensive.
Sepiku . 01-04-2008, 07:22 AM mp4 is the most common non hackedmedia playback format. Movies coded with it (say an hour and a half) are around 400 mb plus.
4 gig is the largest card you can get, (they use fat16 I believe) And that can run rather expensive.
You can also look here.

Kundurp 01-07-2008, 12:01 PM If you're getting it for the multimedia you're getting it for all the wrong reasons. A $250 Ipod slim is surprisinly easier to trasnfer files, has 4g or $300 for an 8g opposed to the psps 2g(you have to buy separatley). Also the Ipod slim is way smaller obiously and works better IMO
I have 2 psp's (original black, and new slim silver Jak pack)
and recently Ipod slim, it's just way better as a media device
But for a gaming machine, there is a ton of great games for PSP, plu God of War and Final Fantasy Crisis Core comming in March.
Pcmaker 01-20-2008, 01:25 AM I just bought a PSP slim today.
It's not as easy to hack as the old PSPs. The old fat PSPs, you could just download a program and install. Then you're set to download games, run emulators, etc.
With the slim one, you have to get a Pandora battery. Or make one yourself. All you have to do is open up the battery the slim psp came with and:

Download the Newbi easy install program and that's it.

What version is your firmware? All you need to do is downgrade that.
