View Full Version : Is there GOD? The question should be Is there life after death
TODDWARNER99 07-24-2006, 07:25 AM :diablo: I was at a confrence ran by my University. The subject of the night was "What Now, I am dead". One of the argument that was brought up By Dr. Wheland regarding the matter of the important of the current Life. Why are we cheapen this life span for an after life that we dont know exist. What we know for sure is we have this life time. ANd this is the only life time we are certain of. We dont know if there is a GOd or heaven And Hell. No one on this planet can prove God exist. So are we so stupid and Not enjoy it. Cheese would it be a bitch if you died and never kknow what it is like to Enjoy life
ninjashoes 07-24-2006, 09:34 AM who knows, at least the matter that makes up our bodies will always exist at least in a different form
GreatNorthernTrendkill 07-26-2006, 08:25 PM i hope there is
I don't know about you guys but there is for me....
Arlovski 07-30-2006, 02:29 AM God's real? what makes the Budhists wrong? religion is a way of saying "large cult"
TODDWARNER99 07-30-2006, 05:23 PM So i notice God And EVil on this forum and they both respond to my statement. My question ... Who is the bitch of the relationship.. GOD OR EVIL? On South Park>>>TheSatan Kicks Jesus ass....Just wondering
God does exist because we do. Our existence requires an origin, we didnt just "come to be" so there has to be something greater. Whether God really is a religious being, spirit, or force of somekind would be a question to boggle the mind more than wondering if their is actually something grreater than us

Human beings are to stupid to understand what God is.

I don know if its stupidy, rather blindness....(not to try and undermine peoples opinion on things) It seems like people dont want to "believe" cause of everyhtiing thats involved iwth it. As soon as u start believing your whole lifestyle comes into question because of the "rules". People dont want to change, and therefore dont want to believe that they will b punished if they dont. My opinion anyways
Shoei 08-03-2006, 06:23 AM you guys played xenogears? that fucked up my view on...."god" at one point. Then it hit me, its just a game.
No afterlife and no god, when we die we fucking die and thats the end of the story. IMO lol
Murdock 08-03-2006, 04:55 PM I believe there has got to be something. There's to many questions for there not to be. Things can be explained so far but at one point theres never a solid explanation to the question Why? Is possibly the ultimate answer actually, "because "god" made it that way." ?
hvi77 08-05-2006, 03:14 AM i believe there is a god
twinmatrix101 08-05-2006, 07:05 PM Scientifically speaking all of our actions, senses, and thoughts are controlled by our brain and once thats gone so are we.
As mere mortals we want to believe that the humble & virtuous are rewarded for their deeds in the afterlife while criminals and evildoers are punished...its just human nature
And more often than not that hope is just too great for most to simply denounce as false.
I mean one only needs to read the OT and see then evil acts in Gods name & the assortment of contradictions to understand their isn't a hellofa lot of logic involved.
jotun 08-15-2006, 05:30 AM i want to believe in something, but at the same time there are so many questions that need to be answered, like...is heaven crowded (theres like 6 billion people in this world)?....why are there so many lies/deceits/untruths in the bible....
if god exists...then where is he? and why doesn't he care about us anymore?
The point that people 'want to believe' combined with the fact that God & the afterlife can't be proven or disproven leaves a broad opening for exploitation. Its amazing just how many intelligent people will use 'selective thinking' in order to keep their hopes of heaven alive. There's too much at stake.
Faith is a double edged sword,I've seen people get robbed of their $$ in Gods name & I've also seen people on their death beds in total serenity comforted by the fact that they're going to a better place. But its not for me.
Trying to be as philosophical & intelligent as possible is cool.To know at the end of the day that you've handled everything the best way possible brings about a satisfaction & completion that can be very fulfilling indeed. That, unlike religion is definite.
valid points. still dont swallow it

Well said, I am in full agreement. Lately, when people ask me if I believe in God my response is usually along the lines of "If there is any substance at all to that concept, I will be the first to admit that I am not sufficiently conscious to understand what it means."
It usually shuts them up.
A friend of mine once likened the understanding of the concept of God to ants on a book. If one placed a book next to an anthill, the ants would most certainley interact with it. They would climb on it, walk over it, taste it and smell it; they would understand (as well as an ant is able) that the book was a real object. Say they were able to get the pages open. At best, the would only recognize the letters on the pages as light and dark splotches, if even that. They would not comprenend these splotches as letters, the letters as words or the meaning behind the words due to their lack of ability to comprehend these concepts. It would be beyond their grasp. We are much the same with the conepts of God, the Universe and the meaning of life. It most likely is right there in front of us, beyond our grasp and comprehension. It would be like trying to imagine a new primary color.
The reason people have created god in their own image is pure laziness - does anyone think that an almighty being would be anything like our species? I would hope not.
dDuecy 09-15-2006, 01:44 AM I really think that i will just do what i think is right and try to be a good person if there is a god y would he cast me to hell for not beliving in him because i have been perfectly good.
lazepunk 09-25-2006, 02:42 AM If there is.......where did he come from?
Without a functioning brain there are no emotions - there is nothing and
that which makes us unique does not exist anymore. .
Emotions, feelings, and all the rest are the result of brain chemistry
and nothing more.
What people choose to believe regarding past lives, future lives, the soul
are only beliefs with no scientific basis - comforting,in a way, but still only beliefs. Every religion on earth claims to be THE ONE AND ONLY way and
conversion recruitment and commitment are based on this.
Aiden 12-07-2006, 07:04 AM god is an imaginary friend for grown ups
dDuecy 12-08-2006, 12:04 AM Well this is going to sound bad but i just wanted to put it out there. The concept of good and Evil or the Heaven and Hell concept was thought up by Zoroaster a simple man. many religions took this idea and twist it a bit. We are thinking things are true that were made up when they thoguht the earth was flat and the universe revolves around the earth. All religions are outdated and for some reason these amazing things dont happen anymore. To me i just cant think its true,Christianity is just a big mesh of multiple religions thats it,I dont know how that one can be right when it has concepts of what they see as the wrong religions. now they have found very old human fossils that could possibly piece together another slot of evolution. and the churches have been trying to hide it. why would they do that? are they themselves questioning there faith? what happens after death i dont really care because i will be dead just like any other thing we run a course and were all made up of cells so i guess theres nothing after death. The other thing that bothers me is do u here the stuff people believe for instance david and goliath. There is no way i am going to believe that some kid took down a giant with a slingshot and some faith.one reason i dont believe that is because there is no such thing as giants. Im out of time
Ŧħє Łєшãŋđσẅsķį 12-08-2006, 03:34 AM YOUR GOING TO HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :fuk: :whip: :ban:
VENDO 12-12-2006, 07:46 PM I need to see someone before I can say he exists.
Like If I was born without a mother, and everyone told me, I knew your mother, she was great and a loving person..but I wouldn't believe them a 100% considering I've never seen her, or met her. When I see her I'll make judgements, and the truth will be found out then and only then.
It's just like If I read millions and thousands of publishing mags on fedor saying he was the best fighter in the world, I'm still gonna be skeptical on if he is great or not, until I see him fight, and therefore I will make my judgements then.
After life, resurections, and past lives, are all just people's beliefs, and have yet to be proven by god himself. If there is one...Which I think there is.
but people's views on him can be misleading considering they have not seen him or met him. God knows it's ok to think like this of him, questioning his existance considering ala we have proof that he is real, is our bodies, and our universe. I don't believe in evolution worth the life for me, but I am open minded, and therefore I won't have a religion, cause I have no proof that religion is correct considering all theories that we have on god..
amanamagus 12-30-2006, 12:17 AM i BELIEVE IN GOD AND THERE IS LIFE AFTER DEATH. i SEEMS NATURAL TO ME THAT SOMEBODY CREATED THE WORLD AND THAT SOMEBODY MATTERS. i MEAN I CANT EXPLAIN IT I JUST HAVE FAITH. CALL IT BLIND FAITH IF YOU WANT TO....
piedra 12-31-2006, 11:36 PM Is there a God no, is there life after death no only worms will dispose of your body.

mmabiker 01-23-2007, 08:47 PM enjoy life & worry about afterlife when your life ends then you'll know the answer
HarshReality 02-14-2007, 05:14 AM Ask yourself this?? does life end after death?? no everthing continues on, so yes there is life after death..
IMO humans as a whole(even peeps that don't go to catholic schools) have sum thoughts of existing in some form after death..
VENDO 02-16-2007, 11:23 AM I like me and my body..he won't do it..
