View Full Version : has john ruiz ever had talent mikebourkefan 12-10-2007, 01:07 AM has he ever been good Beanflicker 12-10-2007, 01:22 AM Well earlier in his career he was a lot more aggressive and funner to watch. But I give him credit, he's a mediocre boxer with mediocre physical tools, yet he has developed a winning (yet incredibly ugly) style that has earned him a lot of money. mikebourkefan 12-10-2007, 02:00 AM Well earlier in his career he was a lot more aggressive and funner to watch. Beanflicker 12-11-2007, 02:13 AM That aint a hard skill to master, just keep your right hand down low. VENDO 12-11-2007, 07:19 AM That aint a hard skill to master, just keep your right hand down low. Exactly. Sharkhunter 12-11-2007, 09:16 PM He was more willing to get hit, until Tua that is mg_productions 12-11-2007, 11:14 PM Let me ask you this. How many of you have gotten ktfo against Tua-Man.Yeah,see,Ruiz has done it. All joking aside,Ruiz has a winning record but not a winning personality, fighting style, or nickname.So...let's get him in the ring with Kimbo and get it over with. Alekhine_Lord 12-13-2007, 05:09 AM http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Ruiz. Don't mean to sound like a dick but see and judge for yourself. MMAsterkillah 12-14-2007, 12:10 AM He is a terrible boxer who, like Bean said, has maximized every opportunity he's ever had. Beanflicker 12-14-2007, 01:02 AM I give him credit though, he was ALWAYS willing to fight the best out there and he was always a defending champ. Back when he was a champ, even though he was my least favorite of the champs, he always seemed to be the guy who was trying to fight the other champs and unify the belts. He'd send out challenges to guys like Lennox Lewis, Wlad Klitchsko and Vitali Klitchsko. I mean who calls those guys out, expecially when you already have a title? He may not have the skills of a champ but he always had the balls and mentality of a champ. Plus I think he got robbed against Valuev. Beanflicker 12-14-2007, 01:17 AM Heres some Classic John Ruiz for ya'll. But he was boring as hell to watch. He just lacked the aggression you want to see in the champ. I think hes actually making a comeback mikebourkefan 12-15-2007, 09:01 AM Ruiz was a fairly solid fighter who beat some good op, like Rahman and an old Holyfield. Beanflicker 08-24-2008, 09:11 PM ^Me too, I thought he won their first fight. That should have been Valuev's first loss. lakersfan08 08-26-2008, 07:37 AM I still remember when Tua kncoked his fuckin head off mikebourkefan 08-29-2008, 06:57 AM I still remember when Tua kncoked his fuckin head off i LOVE that ko. i lol everytime i see it dragonfly 09-02-2008, 04:57 PM i was jus talking about ruiz the other day, or rather his annoying tendency to hold opponents... vBulletin® v3.7.4, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. |
