How far can the 'Pantera' go in the Super Middleweight divsion?

Edison 'Pantera' Miranda of Columbia has recently moved up to the Super Middleweight division and scored a 5th round KO over fringe contender Henry Porras in October. Miranda currently holds a 29-2 (25 Ko's) record and has already defeated good opposition in Howard Eastman, Willie Gibbs and Allan Green at Middleweight, he also lost a controversial decision to IBF Champion Arthur Abraham - some say Miranda was robbed while others say he should have been disqualified (for low blows and head butts).
His last big fight was a WBC Eliminator against another rising star, the hard hitting Kelly Pavlik. Miranda was stopped in the 7th round and some would say he looked lethargic and lacking power in the fight due to trouble making the 160lbs weight limit. Pavlik turned in a convincing, powerful desplay and went on to defeat Jermain Taylor for WBA and WBC Middleweight titles with a 7th round KO.
Edison turns 27 in January and at 5'11 is a decent age and height for the Super Middleweight division. He is considered a hard puncher and targets both head and body behind the jab. He possesses underrated boxing ability but is slow of foot and prone to getting caught with shots; his chin does seem to be decent.
His explosiveness and willingness to trade is what appeals most about the fighter - if you watch a Miranda fight you normally get your money's worth.

The question is can Edison Miranda push on from being a highly touted Contender to World Champion? Will he come unstuck against the big players in the Super Middleweight division? In all likelihood he will probably fight for a portion of the title when, as is expected, current 168lb ruler Joe Calzaghe vacates his belts (WBC, WBA and WBO). The IBF is currently held by Lucian Bute.
So how far in the Super Middleweight division do you think Edison Miranda will go? Division Ruler or just another contender?
