javi announced yesterday that because of his new kid and wife he does not have the time or the energy to run two schools and he will be merging my home academy with mellinia. everyone at showtime has the option to keep their contracts and will have their prices cut to make up for the move.

mellinia just got a whole new building with tons of mat space, new equipment, great instruction from world class grapplers, and pleanty of colored belts and tough guys to train with

i would love to train over there but the thing is that the place is 45 minutes away without traffic. with traffic it is about 1hr to 1 1/2hr away, and i have school in long beach. as is i already can't train very much because of school and that is with showtime 2 minutes down the street from me.

now that showtime will close i have the option to continue my contract with javi for maybe a cheaper price but i will be giving up about 2 hours a day in just driving. i don't think i can do that. and since i already get a great deal, (60 dollars a month for unlimited training where regularly people pay $150) who knows if it will carry over to the new gym, cause it is not just javi running mallenia, there are two other guys who are in charge with him.

so now i have to look for a new school and i am most likely going to new breed in santa fe springs. which is a great school but i will for sure miss javi, i think that guy could have taken me very far; maybe to ADCC or even place at the mundials as a black belt. i'll keep training hard but this is a really sad thing for me, i felt that showtime was like a family to me and now we are all going to split up.

i used to look foward to getting my black belt from javi but oh well i'm sureonce i get used to johnny i will feel better but man this really sucks.

Some dude called me from Millenia saying that they bought a new bigger location. They offered me 100 a month unlimited training. I didn't ask if they had a belt system cause I wanted to train just under Javi. I'll hit him up on myspace and see what Rose says.

yeah if you can do it you should the new gym is amazing the only two gyms that compare are no limits in irvine and extreme couture in vegas. this place is bigger than legends, and for 100/month it is a damn steal, you have batista, romi, and javier all training you... if i could get a hold of one of them star trek transporters i would absolutely go there


and they do have belt systems with the gi, but they also have no gi, boxing, mauy thai, and MMA

Sorry to hear all this, Narb. Whatever gym you go to make sure and talk to the management and tell them about your goals and maybe they can drop your prices since you will pub them at the ADCCs.

i trained at mellinia today, holy shit i don't know what the fuck they feed those guys over there but they are stronger than hell. the place is CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!! it is huge big ass cage, lots of mat space and i hear they have a deal for the hooters girls so they can train for cheap... :uyyy:

but yeah if you can go over there then do it i'll keep in touch with javier and train out there in the summer and times when school is out

do it, i've been training there all week, great place, great instruction, and hot hooters girls... if you are a smaller guy like under 170 you have tough begginers to practice with and javi and joe gutierrez to fuck you up... if you're a bigger guy there are a lot of big guys to roll with and romi and batista will beat you up

this will be the best school in souther california in a few years
