Sweet!!! I am putting some Hedman headers on my truck on monday and picking up a CPP rear suspension for my '69 chevy truck on saturday. How many horses do you think your 'stang is pushing?

I need a lift. Old cars are many problems but much horses!!! I have welder, many tools, mechanical ability, some cash to buy performance products, and a love of American steel!!! BTW California will make you cry with joy about all the beautiful cars here...war L.A.!!!

1995 w/ the 302 H.O. - fuck the modulars. T-5 manual tranny. (i like trannies)

and i already have full catback... 2 high flows on an X-pipe into flowmaster 2-chambers. K&N in there.. not much but it sounds good as-is. next thing i'm buying is 3.90 gears. after that, cam/heads/intake. i also advanced my timing up to 14 deg btdc.

i'm guessing i'm maybe pushing at least 230-ish.... the 95's are weak stock. you gotta do lots of shit to em. should be over 300 after h/c/i.

In my truck I have the 6.5 aka 396. I put a 750 edelbrock carb two weeks ago. I am going to put the RPM performer heads, intake manifold and cam in the next couple of months. I have not dyno'ed the truck yet but the way it runs I figure it is pushing 300+ horses. I think I can pull 500 out of it without much of a problem. As for the transmission I have a Borg-Warner super T-10!!! not a rock crusher but a very nice gear box!!!

Yeah, I have been afraid to drive it...the trailing arms in the rear have rusted out and look like they could break. Chevy was smart to make so many parts compatible with so many engines. What is the emission laws where you are? I do not have to smog check my truck because it is so old. However a newer car many restrictions on it.

our laws are pretty lax compared to most states i think. dont know a lot of the details.

We get fucked...'74 and later have to get smogged yearly to every 3 years. All parts have to be aproved by C.A.R.B. to be sold in california. Plus it cost $300+ for registration for my truck. It came from Tennessee, the frame was straight and the body in decent condition.

Throw a cold air intake and some underdrive pullies on there for the hell of it.

Yeah...you will get about 6 horsepower from the pullies...not much for the price of the parts. The cold air intake could be worth it as long as you get the chip or programmer to go along with it.

yeah.. i think i'm actually just going to take those two parts off of my old 89. should fit right onto a 95's 5.0 right? (maybe not the CAI? dunno if it needs to be mounted differently in a 95. haven't really looked at it.)

Yeah I doubt the CAI off your fox would still fit but the underdrives still should... Look up some underdriven on the net and see what years they span just to make sure... I think you need an inch pounds torque wrench and make sure you folllow the right procedure for tightning that crank bolt.

If I was you I wouldn't even bother with heads/cam/intake when you could spend the same amout of money on a used blower kit/fuelpump/injectors and have all the power your stock bottom end could handle... If you plan to go this rout I wouldn't bother with the underdrives because you would probably want your stock pullies with a supercharger.

i think i am going to get H/C/I anyway, and probably eventually still get a supercharger. why not, right? upgraded cam will sound awesome anyway.

i am looking to eventually strike fear into the hearts of 04 cobra drivers, and make WS6's seem like civics.

If you run ported heads/cam/intake with any type of blower you would blow up the stock bottom in no time at all. Unless you have the money for a shortblock sitting around thats not a very good idea IMO. You might be able to get away with the largest pully possible ( around 6ps ) even with the stock intake I doubt it would last.

+1

It won't last.

Stock 5.0 bottom ends don't handle much over 320-350hp very well from experience.

Best bet now-days is to buy a crate motor rated at over 400hp with a warranty.
