South Park, The Simpsons or Family Guy and why?

Just curious as to who enjoys what show the most and why.

First I was a huge Simpsons fan and a minor South Park fan. Then my Simpsons love started to disipate and I started to watch more Family Guy than anything else.

Family Guy took over and I haven't really watched the Simpsons in 5 years (and when I do I'm not that impressed) and I stopped watching South Park due to inability to watch new episodes.

Family Guy was my favorite for awhile until I had a light bulb and started downloading old South Park episodes. The last 4 seasons of South Park have been some of the best animated Adult Comedy I have ever seen.

When looking back at all the seasons, episodes, and amount of laughter caused South Park gets my vote hands down.

P.S. I also like Robot Chicken but feel that it falls under a different category than these 3.

South Park for it's genius, originality and willingness to hardcore push issues while making it extremely hilarious at the same time. All three are good though.

P.S. This thread has been created due to my pissing myself to tears laughing through the last 4 episodes of South Park I have watched (Imaginationland I, II, III and Guitar Queer-o)

Yeah I picked The Simpsons just to to the fact that they paved the way for shows like this. If they weren't so successful at what they do for so long, I doubt we see these shows like Family Guy and Southpark that use that same basic idea but probably push the line much farther.

The Simpsons, even though i haven't watched new episodes in years. Their prime > South Park's Prime/Family Guys Prime.

South Park has been only alright for the past 5 years. They're best days are definitely behind them. Way to preachy nowadays though. The Guitar Queer-o looked hilarious, but i didn't really laugh when i watched. It was funny, just not hilarious. Reminded me why i don't really care about most shows these days.

Family Guy is just plain lame to me, these days. I never ever watch this show. Their older stuff is okay though.

Simpsons is too juvenile, family guys plot point are to random, and South Park despite being what you all have said also strikes me as gratuitously vulgar. I vote for none of the above and go with Futurama or Boondocks. Overall The Simpsons is the only of the bunch I find boring or corny though

When I watch the Simpsons now,I may chuckle every now and then, but I never actually laugh.I'm entertained but not near as much as I used to be.

South Park usually has me saying 'oh hell' or 'wow' more than actually laughing.I like the show, but I don't actually laugh as much as it's just fucking crazy.

Family Guy literally has me laughing out loud every time I watch it.*'This will be an old fashioned father/son beatoff' anyone?*It has 'wow' and 'oh hell' moments as well, but it's usually accompanied by me laughing my ass off.

I literally don't understand how people don't think Family Guy is funny nor do I understand why some people hate the show so much. But I also don't get how some people hate Napoleon Dynamite or think it's a boring movie either.

The Simpsons for being miles ahead of both shows in subtl,e intelligent humour as well as physical comedy and pop culture refences and omages, all rolled into a solid story line.

South Park is second because they also push some interesting issues but they have too much lowest common dominator humour and not enough higher level humour. Mainly this stems from being written by two regular guys where as Simpsons have Harvard writers with large backgrounds in History, philosophy, English, and political science as well as The Sciences. This show has definitely made me laugh so hard I cried, specifically Make Love not Warcraft and the Scientology episodes.

Family Guy is last because while they can be funny, their storylines cheap out by doing their stupid "Remember When" or "its like that time this happened" which are cheap, easy cut aways. Also they go for the lowest common dominator and just focus on shock humour, some of which I don't think should even be on TV.

Only one thing to say...Simpson's Did it!!!

Also a great point and something South Park definitely made an Omage too in a reference of Respect and also frustration that the many years of the Simpsons(longest running sitcom) have produced shows on so many subjects that its very hard not to copy them.

Where as South Park hasn't copied them, The Family Guy has been exposed as copying them on certain episodes.

Do you have any idea what it's like? Everywhere I go, "Hey Cartman, you must like Family Guy, right?" "Hey, your sense of humor reminds me of Family Guy, Cartman." I am NOTHING like Family Guy! When I make jokes, they are inherent to a story! Deep, situational and emotional jokes based on what is relevant and has a POINT! Not just one interchangeable joke after another!

"Laundry" + "Winning" + "Date" + "Mexico" + "Gary Coleman"
