While i'm pretty sure I still have my receipt the customer service rep didn't even bring it up. In fact I had never registered my warranty and he did that for me over the phone. Red ring blows but they're pretty helpful

I've had the Intercooler fan (the that you plug through the consoles power supply) since the day it came out and had to stop using it since my console would turn of and give me the red ring until I disconnected it. My 360 worked fine from then until last Thursday which was about a year. I figure its just a short matter of time before any 360 user deals with this problem throughout their ownership. owned indeed

Just got off the phone with a courteous but barely intelligible Asian lady working for the Xbox help line. If I understand her correctly, they're going to send me a box to ship off my console, which will in turn be replaced and sent back to me.

What the fuck is wrong with these new systems? I had mine for less than a year and half and I have to send it away, and by comparison to most I've been LUCKY. And from the sounds of it, people who have bought the PS3 are having similar luck.

My buddy has the same Super Nintendo since 1993. They need to start making these motherfucking consoles more durable.

the thing takes 170 watts on average this is compared to around 50 for the PS2 and less for other older consoles

add that to the fact that so many are getting red ring etc etc

these new consoles are fucked but it does seem to be Xbox 360's mostly that is having hardware problems, microsoft fucked up but they can afford to fix it because they own the planet

I have break one more as of today. I instead buy the elite and after they repair my box I am making sale of pro system for 175 us dollars.

Buy the elite, it only has like a 5 percent failure rate. Also make sure when playing the system is out in the open. And like someone alreadly mentioned, keep that baby cool.

My first 360 bit it a while ago and to make matters worse, I had bought a 1 year warranty with Electronic Boutique (EBgames) here in my town so instead of waiting for the box to mail it to MS and then have to wait for it to come back I took it to get it exchanged and the fuckers here wouldn't honor the warranty even though I still had the receipt so I had to drive to a town 2 hrs away to get it changed there.

PS. I love my PS3.

ive had 4 count em FOUR different 360's one even had a year of xbox live on one and i plugged them in just long enough to make sure they worked before selling them to the first sucker that i could on craigslist

360's are fucking terrible. they dont even make good cutting boards. honestly, the best use ive found for them is using it as a partition between my cable box and my ps3 to make sure that they dont overheat

I got my 360 a couple of weeks after they came out. There's not a week where I haven't played with it. I don't like to turn it off cause I don't want to start over at the save point, so I just leave my 360 on 24/7 til I beat the game. I'm abusing this motherfucker.

So far, no problems.
