Hey 'bros, I was just wondering if anyone else on this board will be making the trip to Hamilton, Ontario for the Joslin's Canadian open for some submission grappling this upcoming Nov 10th? It's usually a big tourny, drawing people from as far west as Vancouver, and even some clubs from the states too. I'll be there, grappling in the novice 185-205 division. Maybe some of you guys can make it? P.s If you win your division, you get a pretty sick championship belt instead of a trophy!

Yeah, for sure. I was just about to come on here and ask if you knew what time the registration/fights start on sunday? I'll be in the beginner 185-204 gi division, rockin a black gi.

I got trounced last year. I was doing good for the opening of the fight, but in a scramble to sweep, I got mounted, then I panicked, thinking the dude was just going to hold position for the last minute, I extended my arm, and he took it. Ah well. Good luck tomorrow bro!

I wish I could say the same bro. I let my first fight go to the judges, and paid the price. Congrats, that's awesome about the four arm-bars. I'm guessing that was in the gi division? I hope you heal up well bro.

Injuries suck! and it sounds like you were on a roll to 4 arm bars in a row, is pretty wild.

Does your dojo have a competition team, Cam? Mine does, and they drill the hell out of us in cardio.

I Think it was your gym that had the guy win the 155 under Beginner GI Catagory, if it was your gym he was real solid, finished all his fights.

Maybe it was Gracie Barra I forget lol.

Ahhhhhh ur the dude in the red gi? Pulled that arm bar with 1 second off to save ya? Weren't u down 4-2? That was awesome to pull that out that late. Hows the arm doing? If your the guy im thinking u got armbared by the winner and ur arm kinda got stuck under him?

I was the guy with red atama gi at 155 beg gi. My elbow is fine. I got X-rays done on tuesday, no fracture. I think I did fairly well considering that I only have 2 & 1/2 months BJJ under my belt. I was real dissapointed though. I had horrible cardio. I injured my back in early October, so I had been training real light. After my second match, I puked balls from exhaustion. To be honest, I'm suprised I did as well as I did. It was a real tough tournament, and I'll look forward to being there next year in the intermediate division.
