I can understand that the Palestinians are demanding the release of minors from Israeli jails, but I if the jailed women were involved in suicide or terror actions then they ought not to be released. They really have to look at it on a case by case basis.

The Israelis are not budging and rightly so, they do not want to encourage more military kidnappings. But they need to get their boy released asap or the Isareli public is going to get impatient. So how will it end? Will Israel go back to its favored tactic of jsut smashing everything up or will they be sensible and try to find a more diplomatic solution?
They seem to have been playing a balanced game of arresting Hamas ministers and sending aid to the Palestinians.

I am personally hoping this will result in a reform of the Israeli judicial system and a fairer hearing for Palestinians on the long run.

i hope they can avoid bloodshed, but hamas are murderers and deserve to be dealt with. they bitch and complain about such and such and are two faced like arafat was. Talk peace in english and talk annihlation of the jew in arabic. They should create a second state, but the palestinians screw it up by continuing to teach their little kids to hate and kill every jew instead of a real education. I hope there won't be any bloodshed either, but you can't just destroy Hamas anymore. They have been legally and legitmatly elected into office. They can not be treated like a terrorist group anymore, but then again when they act like they do it is hard to differentiate and draw a line.

They should split like the IRA kept their weapons and Sinn Fein beacme the political branch.

About the Palestinians teaching their children to kill, I think you are being overly harsh. Both sides hate each other, but its not like palestinian families are hate factories reproducing just to create more killing machines. They are frustrated and I think that anyone could relate to that frustration. I am not familiar with their education system. Do they have a free schooling system availiable to all? Do they have the funds to maintain one?

the age old question. They don't trust each other mainly and always think that the other side is up to no good, which they usually are, so it's a bit of a catch 22 situation.

This situation will go on for years im afraid, theres no simple solution to this. too much bad blood between them. palestians are pissed at israel, suicide attacks many people die, israel strikes back, many people die, more suicide attcks, israel strikes back...it just goes on, and it will go on, for many years to come.

Israel has always had a policy of not negotiating. They need to stick to that and kill the terrorists down the line.

No outside independent organization can "look at it case by case...", just like with all the guys at Gitmo. We have no idea why these people are being arrested and imprisoned (beyond the general "they're muslim and from the wrong neighborhood".)

why not? isn't that the foundation of all judicial systems?
If someone gets arrested shouldn't he/she be entitled to a fair and unprejudiced trial?
And it should not be an organisation but the state apparatus itself that has to defend and uphold the law.
The problem is precisily that we do not know why these people were arrested because they did not have access to a legal trial.
