View Full Version : What do you look for in Games?
Kundurp 10-08-2007, 07:43 AM I used to mostly only play Japanese RPG's for story, I loved the experience, and in most of my other games thats sorta what I use as a judging factor to whether or not I like it (Halo 3 was dissapointing)
YouforgotPoland mostly plays games to kill shit, so when we play together it's usually a Co-Op Shooting game.
I also like a really hard game, thats good at giving you a reason to keep going, like Ninja Gaiden Black or God of War 2 on their hardest modes were awesome. I hate games that aren't creative enough to makea game difficult so they just make enemies kill you in one hit.
So what do you play games for? Or what do you look for in the ones you do play?
Story?
Challenge?
Violence?
There's billions of different things.
Rynoplasty 10-08-2007, 08:06 AM I like games with a shitload of hours of gameplay, RPG's are my favorite. Other longass games like San Andreas or any other game with a gameplay style I like. Crazy old long in depth Pc games like Star Control 2 were the shit too.
Dert McGert 10-08-2007, 09:00 AM Multiplayer. I am a huge fan of multiplayer games. Getting with a group of people and dominating another group.
That and games focused around things I like. Import cars and shit like that. That is why I got Juiced 2.
Pcmaker 10-08-2007, 03:41 PM I look for storyline in console games. Or singlerplayer games for that matter.
Squirrel 10-08-2007, 03:43 PM I like games that are easy to play when I am stoned. I like to race motorcycles, crash cars and shoot people. The only games I have ever totally finished are the Medal of Honor series. I get bored easily. Maybe just frustrated.
ShadowoftheDarkgod 10-08-2007, 04:03 PM RPG and length and Adventure. Chrono Trigger, FF, Suikoden and MGS Series.
ninjashoes 10-08-2007, 09:28 PM Starcraft - perfect balance, great storyline, awesome overall design of units, maps and gameplay, fast paced action and huge number of players after a decade
DieOff 10-08-2007, 09:41 PM Good controls, decent story and replay value.
hotnewton 10-09-2007, 01:09 AM Resident Evil, Zombies, Hockey, or Limbs being shot off... I basically suck at all games that aren't RE or Hockey so if there isn't RE or Hockey involved I will most likely not play
I also liked Soldier of Fortune 1 and 2 because I could put on invisible mode and just continually blow peoples limbs off
anything that gets my imagination going enough to take me to another mental zone, you know, you kindof let go and are completely submerged and forget completely about "reality".
...also,findable cheat codes for when i'm stuck:yes:
Shaggydoo 10-09-2007, 05:00 AM Smooth gameplay/controls are a must for me.
I hate games where the graphics, etc, are awesome, then you grab the controller for 15mins and want to smash shit b/c of the shit gameplay/lack of smooth controls.
Kundurp 10-09-2007, 05:33 AM It sounds like everyone in here would enjoy BioShock.
I would like to change a few things about the games setting though.
the 3 Ps
playability playability and playability
graphics don't mean shit to me, a story line ain't even necceserry but game play is what makes games good
MMAsterkillah 10-09-2007, 08:17 PM I look for realism within sports games.
Where the fuck is FIFA? Shit is supposed to be released today, and it is nowhere to be seen.
IMAMEX 10-09-2007, 10:19 PM I like sports games with a nice career mode. The Madden Superstar mode sucked balls and really sacrificed gameplay due to the fact that you had to play the whole fucking game with only the player in your position.
I like guitar hero due to the sheer difficulty of the hard and expert levels plus it has wicked awesome songs.
So I basically like a good career mode, challenging games with lots of replayabiliity & graphics. Graphics gotta rock.
YouFrgotPoland 10-10-2007, 01:34 AM Starcraft - perfect balance, great storyline, awesome overall design of units, maps and gameplay, fast paced action and huge number of players after a decade
Starcraft was definatly an awesome game. But I was always a warcraft 3 guy myself, the custom games never get old. After player WC3 for a long time I tried to go back to SC and it just wasn't fun.
Also anything with zombies is automatically an awesome game, can't wait for Left4Dead, look it up if you haven't heard of it.
As for sports games, generally I hate them. Fifa is probably the single most boring game I have ever played in my life. NBA jam for super nintendo is probably still the best sports game ever made, Followed shortly by NFL blitz for 64. Also, I have played a lot of Fight Night for 360, that game is a ton of fun.
Fedor=#1 10-10-2007, 01:48 AM Story is important to me.
If I don't get into it, I'll get bored and lose interest.
tropicana619 10-10-2007, 09:27 PM Replaybility & Options to customize GAMEPLAY, not just aesthetics and looks.
** Fire Pro ** comes to mind...
Also:
Gran Turismo
Def Jam: Vendetta
And anything, like the ** Thief ** series. Check it out.
Btw: best of all time, for me, Jagged Alliance 2.
Atticus 10-11-2007, 12:13 AM Multiplayer or online play, I'm a very social gamer and get bored too easily when playing a game by myself.
