I'm surprised a thread hasn't been started about this yet.It WAS for the heavyweight title...kinda.

Anyhoo, decent fight.Would have rather saw Peter slaughter Maskaev instead of this one,but still a really watchable heavyweight bout. And if anyone has any doubts about McClines steroid purchases of the past....c'mon....I mean really,c'mon. The dudes juicing big time....McCline.

Peter is primed to take over the heavyweight division except for one lil guy name Klitschko.Other than him,he's going to be an exciting name to watch.

Mccline is the quintisential choke artist. That fight was there for the taking and he pissed it away IMO.

Peter is good, I think he has showed a hell of a lot of improvement in his last 2 fights. If Wlad Klitchko wasn't around, he could take over the hw division. But he isn't going to beat Wlad, Wlad is going to drop the hammer on him and HARD. I think the first time Wlad was too respectful and fearful of Sam's power, just having come off a streak of bad performances. But this time, having gained a lot of confidence as of late, he'll annihilate Peter IMO.

Golota Stops McBride, Meehan Gets The Upset Recommend this page Printable version Search BoxingScene Database

By Mark Vester

On the undercard of Samuel Peter-Jameel McCline at New York's Madison Square Garden, Andrew Golota (40-6-1, 33 KOs) got the biggest win of his career in the last few years with a gutsy stoppage of Kevin McBride (34-6-1, 29 KOs) in the sixth round.

After being badly rocked in the very first round, Golota came from behind in the sixth to land a monster left that put McBride in trouble, then followed up with a combination of shots to get the stoppage.

Late replacement Kali "Checkmate" Meehan (33-3, 27 KOs) stopped DaVarryl "Touch Of Sleep" Williamson (24-5, 20 KOs), also in the sixth round. Meehan floored Williamson with a perfect right hand near the end of the sixth. Williamson was never able to fully recover and found himself unable to come out for round number seven.

Golata is done, seriously, name the last person of note he fought?
McCline gave that fight away, he had Peter on some serious rubber legs & couldnt put the fight away. he is the HW title fight choke artist.
