From what I've heard, sprinting builds muscle and cuts you up.

Personally I find lifting weights, combined with HIIT training has given me the best results.

Well im 5'10 the last time I ever weighed in I was 160 so I persume that Im between 160 and 170 now. Gotta lot of Body fat I can pinch and pull around the mid section. Muscle well like I said can look at me and go hey skinny ass white boy. Im looking to get a nice build going and once I get my knee I got sumkind of lump under my knee cap sticking out I get hit there IM down on the ground in pain I forgot what the doctor told me but that was awhile ago I forgot what it was. Im gonna go join kick boxing after I learn about my knee somemore. Any one know what Im talking about by the way?

Check with a doctor who is familiar with sports injuries aswell mate.
If you don't want to use weights I suggest you start doing burpees. Lots of burpees. Combine that with rope skipping with some running aswell. That would take care of your extra weight and help you cut, but is not enough without a BALANCED diet.

Push ups with legs elevated would increase the tension on your chest and triceps. ALso try to include some bodyweight squats and explode on the way up. And of course pull-ups (chin-ups) are fantastic.

If you want to try your hand at MMA, kboxing will not be enough. You will need to cross train and include either some no-gi BJJ, freestlyle wrestling, sambo... basically anything with ground work and falls.

good luck.

i think powerlifting type of weight training is much more important than bodybuilding training. you need strength not good looks

Work the core and lower body. Upper body is not as important.

hmm.. Bas Rutten and Frank Shamrock started late..

if you think a good build is going to help you in fighting you're wrong...

just eat natural proteins you don't need those bull shit xience stuff..

if you want to make it into a career..quit your job and train to be the best..

muscle milk is a very good sup for bulking. Sprinting acually burns both muscle and fat.

It takes alot of commitment and dedication, if you work hard and train hard you can get there.

Lots and lots of sparring is critical.

Cardio and a balanced diet. Whatever gets your heart beating at 60%-80% range will be good for you.

boy if u want to be a fighter u gotta do a tad more than some pushups and some crunches at the gym
first off i would run my ass off and condition my body and make my body a weapon first and then i would learn some wrestling join a team or a club if u can personally i was a high school wrestler and i wrestle in college along with freestyle and greco roman during the off season.. then try and take some boxing build that foundation and i say then learn BJJ

I think you should be posting alot of your questions on the bodybuilding.com forum. You will get advice on the supps that really work from experts on there. There are many guys that train MMA and power lifting on there that will help you out alot.

You're obviously pretty green to sports fitness, so there is much to cover. I am a personal trainer who can give you all the advice you need, so if you PM me I'll help you out on how to get started.

Only 1 real way to find out and that is to test yerself in the ring or cage.

weightlifting is good when you want to get some size but if you want to build functional fighting strength you need to do some cable training or use power bands and do some throws and twists with a medicine ball. plyometrics are a lot more practical for fighting. Ultimate Grappling magazine and Real Fighter magazine always have some really good pointers for getting stronger and getting fight conditioned.

No need to go into muscle building. Get in shape, and sport specific conditioning, which would be primarily training MMA.
