On HBO right now
Berto v Estrada
Berto is coming out real strong so far in the first 6 rounds, only stunning Estrada once but it wasn't even that bad. Estrada has been on the back peddle except for a few good flurries where he's back Berto up into a corner, and beside's winning the first round. so far it's a very great fight.

Starting the 7th Berto kept up the same pace as he had in the first 6 rounds, Estrada getting kinda sloppy and slow with his punches.
8th round Estrada comes out real strong really laying it on Berto but not doing much damage, Berto really good at not showing that Estrada can hurt him comes back to control the rest of the round with good combo's making Estrada's nose bleed. Back n forth flurries from both man to finis the round.
Start of the 9th Estrada looks real tired hugging trying to stop action, Estrada doesn't really seem to want to be in the fight. Berto just landing at will almost esp. with real good body shots. Estrada looks real sloppy, Berto looks like he's as fresh as in the the begining of the fight.
10th round Berto really laying on the jabs, but Estrada is starting use some better head movement but not really moving his feet. Berto just peppering him with shots to finish the round off, really stopped throwing power punches.
11th round Berto looking super sharp still, really good combos. Estrada just looking for huge left hook. Berto drops Estrada with a HUGE uppercut, ref lets him back up just to stop it after Berto comes in with a big flurry.
Berto wins by TKO

Taylor v Pavlik
Fight hasn't started but big talk from announcers of Pavlik not being in the same league as Taylor, but Taylor has alot to prove with this fight.

1st round Taylor throwing heavy leather but nothing landing flush, Pavlik sticking the jab with ease. No respect for Pavlik power shows Taylor, both trading in the middle of the ring both refuse to back up. Very very active 1st round.
2nd round Taylor looks to excited, not concentrating on his shots. Taylor throws incredible combo dropping Pavlik, Pavlik is very very wobbly but holding in there and getting his feet back. Taylor with big uppercuts kinda tiring his arms out from all the punches he threw. Pavlik survives the round.
3rd round Pavlik looks to be on a misson off the bell backing Taylor up, gets him in the corner but couldn't mount an offense. Very convincing rights by Taylor looking to end it. But Pavlik turns it on himself showing no respect for Taylors power even after the knock down in the 2nd. Pavliks gets him in the corner again after stunning him for a second but doesn't really land many flush shots, Taylor gets himself out of trouble.
4th round both men holding there own in the center of the ring. Taylor hits Pavlik with a low blow but he shrugs it off. Taylor showing good ability of getting out of the corners with power punches. Lot of clinching this round, round ends with both men trading in the center of the ring.
5th round Pavlik sticking the straight right at will on Taylor, and also showing a good jab. Pavlik eats a big overhand right, but pushes forward anyway. Taylor keeping his hands kinda low but still throwing with authority. Taylor ends the round with a flurry but no dice.
6th round Pavlik working the body with hooks, Taylor peppers him with jab. Taylor lands a big left him but has to eat left from Pavlik. Taylor getting backed up with ease by Pavlik landing straight rights and good jabs at will, but starting to gas a little. Taylor showing good flurries and rocks Pavlik but keeps pushing forward.
7th round Taylor comes out real strong but most of the punches are getting blocked. Both man working the jab, Taylor sort of slowed down after the first minute. Taylor continually backing up but landing good 1 2's to the body and head. Pavlik backs Taylor into the corner and unleashes big rights and lefts just sticking at will with big power. The ref jumps in and ends it Taylor couldn't answer.
Pavlik by TKO

Taylor had him hurt BAD in the 2nd... its a shame he couldn't close the show and chose to hold on instead of completely emptying his gass tank

That Pavlik vs. Taylor fight was a great fight to see.

I just can't believe that Pavlik made it through the 2 round. Taylor had the speed but not the strength to finish the fight. But I like to look at it in another way. It was the heart and the warrior spirit that will to keep going that made Pavlik get up from that knock down.

Then when Pavlik came back in the 3 round and he had Taylor in the corner and on the ropes. Fuck, I was cheering my ass off.

I think that this was a great tittle fight. Pavliks aggressiveness (he had Taylor on his heals backing up most of the fight) and his will to win made all the difference in this tittle fight win.

BOXING IS FAR FROM DEAD BITCHES!

Pavolil showed major heart and I think gained a whole hell of a lot fans with that win.Going into the fight I didn't like Taylor one bit. However, when he fights someone that is willing to trade,he can be entertaining. That, combined with his postfight interview*class all the way* kind of got me into rooting for him against whoever he fights next.Unless it's the Pavman.

Great night for boxing and HBO.The Taylor/Pavick showed you how boxing can be better than MMA.It's a shame we can't get that on a consistent basis.

i was tellin a lot of my homies that were betting on Taylor that they shouldn't bet. Pavlik was clearly the underdog for those that don't know him. i had a feeling that he might ko Taylor, even though i still wanted Taylor to win.

Hopefully there is a rematch between these two fighters next year as the contract has a clause for a rematch.

Its an automatic rematch... Taylor normally has trouble making 160 so the rematch is SCHEDULED at 164 as a non-title match. However Taylor and Pavlik both made weight easier than normal this time so it might be at 160 for the title. No date currently set

Taylors always been 100% class... Its pissed me off all the people that bash him because he hasn't knocked out Ouma or Spinks who have been knocked out a combined 2 times in their careers. Oh and how many times have Hopkins or Winky Wright been knocked out? Why did people expect him to KO supremely talented defensive fighters. He can fight an entertaining fight against an agressive opponent. I hope Taylor comes back firing at either 160 or 168. JERMAIN FTW

Agreed 100%. Who the fuck ever looks good against guys like Hopkins, Wright, or Spinks? Even prime Roy Jones didn't look good against a very green Hopkins.
I like both guys, but I'm picking Jermaine in the rematch. He's got the skills to whoop Pavlik, this time he'll fight smarter IMO

Guys can have all the heart in the world, but it don't stop you from being knocked out. The onslaught that Jermaine hit him with would have knocked most middleweights out cold IMO.

Is it just me or did "double S" Steve Smoger call a bad fight? In the 2nd i actually thought he should have stopped the fight, i mean Pavlik was on some serious rubber legs and wasnt moving his head or throwing his hands.
But in the 7th when Taylor was hurt by Pavlik he just hopped in stopped it; in mean WTF! He didnt even give Taylor a chance to get knocked down and get up from it.
Dont get me wrong i was pulling for Pavlik but "double S" kinda blew chunks in that fight.
