This is true. Nobody likes to see animals getting killed, but all animals need to be slaughtered so people can eat. As long as those seals are being eaten and other parts harvested for other uses, I have no problems with it. Eveybody who eats hamburgers should go to a slaughterhouse it's grosser than this video. As long as you don't exterminate something just for fun then it's ok in my book.

Hahah, I remember how Pam Anderson wanted to meet with premier Danny Williams about the seal fishery. I guess she figures that the fact that she was in a couple of shitty movies and TV shows, and maybe even the fact that her tits are enormous, gaurentees her a meeting with a premier and makes her opinion actually important.

Had to laugh at the hypocrosy of Paul and Linda too. They had a nice little PR video of them handling and playing with baby seals while they're staff held and subdued the mother seals. I guess they were too busy standing up for the baby seals that they overlooked that fact that when the pups are handled by humans, the mothers will abandon the baby seal and it'll die. Ah well, a small price to pay for such great press I guess.

Like you said, if baby seals weren't cute there would be no uproar about it, the Canadian government handles the seal fishery very well
