View Full Version : Tips on getting Sponsors!
xhale 09-28-2007, 07:47 PM So i was talking to my instructor Joe Camacho and he mentioned to me that it might be a good idea to take a few pictures in my gi with my medals along with a letter telling a little bit about me.
bascially i sent out a bunch of letters to all these corps. around my work and told them im a full time student and work full time and train whenever im not busy and blah blah blah can i please have some money to go to these tournies. a donation of $100 will get them an adverisment on my rash guard and a donation of $500 will get one on my gi.
so a few days ago Miller Genuine Draft sent me $500 bucks to put their name on my Gi.. and it only cost me 49.99 to add the stiching.
a friend of mine that trains with us got $5000 last month alone! im still hoping for more endorments.

Obi Narb Kenobi 09-28-2007, 10:57 PM holy shit i need to do that
my mundial medal should do me gut
That's awesome. I just need to up my game and try the same.
xhale 09-28-2007, 11:48 PM yes both of you should do it
It only makes sense. Most of the spectators are in the male 18-34 demographic which is so prized by the advertisers of these companys.
And the guys out there competing and winning would be seen and respected by these spectators.
Just think about the companys that focus on that demo and go for it. Maybe Xhale can write up the sponsorship packages and get 10%.
kermitthefrayer 09-29-2007, 06:47 AM Ass soon as I have something to show off I will do this too.
ItBurnzWhenIP 09-29-2007, 01:13 PM Getting sponsors is easy, just go to Koral and tell them you're the shit and you want a personalized Gi and they can put their name on it too. Bang its that easy - just do it. Works 60% of the time - EVERYTIME

Sloth 10-09-2007, 05:08 PM Hi,
Xhale, when you wrote the letters out to these corporations did you use a particular format? Like was it a "Hi, my name is..." or did you do like a brochure type of thing with a business letter enclosed (almost like a professional resume)?
I'm interested in doing this also and am not sure how to approach the local large businesses.
Thanks in advance for your time!

Sloth 10-09-2007, 07:32 PM Cool, thanks! I was wondering about the email thing...I guess it's more professional to do it by hand? Anyway, thanks for the help.
