There is an arcade in Anaheim I used to go to called Golf Land. It was one of the most competitive arcades on the west coast and hosted several large tournaments for the gaming elite in the US. On a few occasions I would go to Golf land and see people playing various similar puzzle games at that speed. It's interesting that some people would spend so much time and effort on something knowing they'll get no financial gain from it. This is coming from someone who has been gaming since the Atari 2600. I can only wonder what the US gaming culture will be like 10 years from now

One of my best friends when I was young moved back to Japan when he was 8 years old. Every couple years he will come back and play some of my games and dominate. He will show me how to lap the computer 5x in Mario Kart, how to easily win the gold medals in Starfox, etc. etc. etc.. It's fucked, so easy for him and he says he sucks.
