There may be alot of islamic extremist sympathizers in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan (who I don't consider our allies by any means) but Irans government openly calls for the destruction of the Unides States unlike any other Islamic country. There are alot of pro-american Iranians and our only chance to avoid war is to weaken the Iranian government to the point that a democratic revolution can build and push out the extremists.
