SAMSUNG 206BW Black 20" 2 ms (GTG) DVI Widescreen LCD
It's freaking fast as hell, which is good for gaming. It's so fast, it's like a CRT monitor. And the Displaymate benchmarks are freaking almost perfect

I bought this monitor yesterday and got it today (had to pay for overnight shipping) and found out it's MaximumPC's recommended LCD screen.

Some monitors are faster than others? I have never heard anyone say that before.

Yep.
It's called refresh rate. The monitor I just mentioned has a 2ms refresh rate. The lower the better.

It's a little unneccesary unless you try to run your game at higher refresh rates. 8ms is more than good enough.
my 24" Dell ultrasharp flat screen is better, nicer, and cheaper than this samsung imo.

Nah, I had a 5ms monitor and I can still tell a difference compared to a 2ms.
8ms should be fine for gaming - the thing is its how they get to the 8ms timings - read an article in a magazine - can't link to magazines stuffed behind my couch sadly - but basically some can lie / bend figures etc obviously..
I am using a iiyama with 2ms response - I play games a fair bit and its absolutely mint - has a lovely anti-glare black screen like the Sony's use... but I have seen 8ms screens run just as well - at least to my eye - I am too busy shooting people in the face on BF2142 to look for miniblurs :) .
i cant deal with LCDs at all. regardless how crisp the resolution on them is, i still see the mesh. it drives me crazy. and once someone shows you how to see it, you cant stop seeing it.
