View Full Version : Eternal Sonata and Fatal Inertia demos out now on Xbox Live
Rynoplasty 08-10-2007, 04:02 AM The Eternal Sonata demo is awesome, I wasn't sure about this RPG at first, even though I had played previous Namco RPG's like Tales of Symphonia (which by the way was the best Gamcecube game) but was originally skeptical after hearing about the story. But after playing the demo I am definitely buying this one. I haven't played Fatal Inertia, which is a wierd futuristic battle racing game made by Koei (Dynasty Warriors).

Well it is not like Oblivion at all really, the only things it shares is the RPG style equipment and character menus. But the game is much more like a traditional RPG but with a unique new battle system. The graphics are really nice as well, and it seems like it will be a crackishly long game like Oblivion but doesn't have too many similarities though. You have a party of characters (there are three in the demo but I think there are 9 or 10 playable characters at least) each with different attacks, the attack system is unique in that you get 5 seconds for each charachter to do as many attacks as you can get in. Another unique thing is that you posses different magic attacks depending on if you are standing in light or shadow to cause you to strategize where you place yourself a little bit more.

I will probably skip this one.

Try the demo, it is a fairly small one compared to most.
Rynoplasty 08-10-2007, 05:04 AM Also, try the Stranglehold demo, it is teh pwn.
RoryZilla 08-10-2007, 05:06 AM I hate most games...I tried marvel alliance...hated it.
RoryZilla 08-10-2007, 05:06 AM Oblivion is the best game I ever played.

Oblivion is one of my three fav's, along with San Andreas and FF VII. In no order. If you don't try Eternal Sonata try Stranglehold for real. It is a mad crazy game. I said "Oh Snap" a few times. Eternal Sonata is only for if you like Namco Tales or Final Fantasy type rpg's.

Never played them...I am very picky about games. I am not hardcore.
Rynoplasty 08-10-2007, 05:22 AM You never played GTA: San Andreas? Did you at least play GTA III or Vice City?

ItBurnzWhenIP 08-19-2007, 03:52 AM The Eternal Sonata game looked fucking awesome. I was getting sick and fucking tired of seeing all RPG's made into polygonal affairs until I came across Rogue Galaxy which is cell shaded style. I figured with the next gen consoles animated RPGs would finally die. I'm glad to see I was wrong. The animation on that game looks wicked. Gorgeous visuals and well voice acted too it seems.
ItBurnzWhenIP 08-19-2007, 03:58 AM Fucking weird... I just read about the game and Eternal Sonata's premise for its world is that it all takes place in Frederic Chopin's subconscious.
For those who don't know Chopin is a famous music composer. I.E. Wolfgang Mozart

It is a strange story, the demo doesn't even mention Chopin though, and it seems like the fantasy world doesn't have too much to do with music. The only thing musical are score pieces you can find and play with certain other characters. It is just a bonus thing though. Also all the characters names are musical terms.
