The setup couldn’t be more perfect.

Leading up to one of the most anticipated fights of 2007, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao will be the team captain for the Philippines and “The Baby Face Assassin” Marco Antonio Barrera will lead Mexico into war as both countries bring their best prospects and contenders this August 11th at ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California. Having both living legends in the flesh should provide more than enough inspiration for both teams to perform at the highest level possible on a stage in which the whole world will be watching.

In a savvy move by both Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank, both Pacquiao and Barrera will be on a spotlight that showcases the country’s top fighters in addition to being on regular HBO. In an already action-packed card taking place that night, the ARCO Arena is set to really heat up when the crowd catches a glimpse of these two gladiators.

Mexico vs. Philippines… it’s a young rivalry that is set to change boxing forever.
