TFZ, Axeman, and Bruce Lee Ninjabros Campfest 2007, with pics and vids!

[The Fire]

Just this past weekend I had the pleasure of meeting up with Axe and Bruce in Ohio for a weekend of camping, partying, eating, partying, kyaking, partying and more partying. We were at the Mohican Reservation campground and had a site right on the water - pimp.

We met up about 4pm on Friday and started setting camp. Here are Bruce and Axe working to get Bruce's tent up after they set up Axe's Pittsburg Steelers themed tent:

After camp was all set up, we rewarded ourselves with some beers, some shots and of course, some herbal treatments. Here is a vid of Bruce twisting up the innagural joint that also shows our site after it was pretty much set up:

He talked a lot of smack about his j rolling skills, and while they were good, mine were better this day - and I really didn't even have my "A" game. I did not record it, since I was too busy rolling it, but the Axeman will confirm that I was the winner - see how honest he looks:

The blue tarp in the background worked as our grappling mat. After a couple rounds of shots, beers, and doobies, I was ready to demonstrate some techniques and Bruce was kind enough to assist me. After showing how to defend a double leg takedown and transition into a rolling omaplata, along with a couple of other subs and sweeps, Bruce was ready to do some real battle. After a brief standing exchange, I decided it would be best to get inside Bruce's ample reach (the man is 6"4 and in pretty damn good shape) I shot for the double...and got stuffed. I pulled guard as Bruce made the mistake of going for a guillotine before securing position and threw up an armbar attempt which he defended nicely and then went for the pass...right into my triangle. First match goes to TFZ, 45 seconds of the very first round by way of submission - Triangle Choke.

Rolling and drinking and smoking and setting up camp is hard work. In order to keep a Ninjabro's strength up, we needed MEAT. A couple of racks of baby back ribs grilled up by yours truly did the trick quite nicely if I do say so myself.

This was the first foray into a night of mass meat comsumption. A couple of hours, joints, shot and beers later, Bruce busted out with the super quality straight from the butcher sirloin burgers and gourmet hot dogs. Here we are photographed by one of the young ninjabros in training who smelled all the good stuff coming from our site and came over to party - Bruce is housing the young man's pipe:

Note the scuffed knees on Bruce. No, these did not come from him having to pleasure me after I choked him out, but from his second chance at redemption. With the bitter taste of defeat still fresh in his mouth, Bruce manned up and challanged me again - and again my takedown was thwarted. Though the man does not train, he learns fast, and when I went to pull guard again, he immediately went for the pass. I was a bit too lazy and overconfident so I gave him my back, thinking I would just roll away and back into guard, but damn it if the man did not get his hooks in and roll me over! For the next couple of minutes I alternately tried to shake him free or prevent him from sinking the RNC. At one point when reaching down to dislodge one of his hooks, he actually trapped my arm ala BJ vs. Hughes I and got his forearm under my chin! Fortunately I was able to peel his bicep (sorry about the bruise there Bruce) away to stay concious long enough to free my other arm and escape the choke. I felt his spirit wither and die as soon as his last gasp effort failed and I immediately reversed back into guard and passed - the exhausted, but well aqquited Bruce was tapping as soon as I had the arm triangle choke locked in. Damn fine effort for a novice though.

Up bright and early at 8:30 am or so, we immediately set to getting some baking with our waking. With a long 23 miles on the river ahead of us, were were going to need "a country breakfast that would make Matt Hughes hard' as Bruce said - and made. One of the best damn camp breakfasts I ever had.

After finishing breakfast and couple more fat ass joints, we realized the bus was leaving in 10 minutes and booked our asses to the other end of the campsite and squeezed our way onto the bus. We knew were were in for it when 50 people all got off at the first stop and it was us and one couple who were doing the 23 mile trip...we're not sure if they made it back before nightfall, but chances are they did not stop as often as we did. We rolled a handfull of cannons and had to stop to smoke 'em. Here is some video and some pics of our first stop:

Bruce flipped once because he was trying to prevent me from passing him and was concentrating a little too much on rowing fast and not enough on staying upright. Fortunately we made some quick friends on the river bank who let us warm up by the fire:

Later, we returned the good deed and kept karma alive by rescuing some water travelers who were almost done in by a rock:

All in all a really good fucking time guys. We ate, drank, smoked and lived like camping kings - the only part of the trip that was not fun was trying to stifle the urge to vomit when having to use the campsite outhouse - horrific.

We are going to do this shit again, and we are going to do it this year - more of you bitches need to come along...if for no other reason than to taste my 3am hobo pie creations - Bruce and Axe will tell you how fucking good those were.

But it was cool as hell when you were teaching us the sumbissions. I had a respect for JEWWWWW JITSEWWWW before, but after learning the some of the techniques, and feeling how they get applied and rolling with someone who is trained, I have a totally new respect for it. It was all very impressive.

So we are cruising down the river, about 6 hours into it and who knows how much longer to go. We're out of beer and weed, most of our shit is soaked but we are starting to dry out and make decent time.

We come past this camp ground and I am up front and I see these kids hiding in a tree stump in the water. The little shits wait until I go past and the hose me with one of those pump water guns! I yelled at them to quit and their dad or sombody says "you didn't say please don't squirt me"! So I ask him if he is going to ask me to please not punch him in his fucking face.

I obviously did not rattle this guy much because when Axe and Bruce came by his wretched offspring started squirting them too - and then the coupe de gras - while Bruce was distracted from the water, the guy in the canoe pulled a wire that had a rubber snake dangling on it right in front of Bruce's face, causing him to freak out and tip his kyak!

Now, at this point I would have to give it to the fuckers for their ingenuity, but the thing is that my camera was on the raft on the back of Bruce's kyak. I paddled back to them asking Bruce if my camera got dumped - when we determined it had not, I told cus in the canoe that he was lucky that I don't have to come over there and take $300 out of his ass. Told him he was a shit ass parent having his kids fuck with people who are minding their own business and again reminded him how it is a matter of time before he gets his ass beat. At least the people who rowed past while we pulled over to dry off did not get squirted - I'm sure they were right back at it as soon as we were out of eyesight.

Not funny at the time, but funny as FUCK now!
