Rynoplasty 07-16-2007, 06:23 PM I still haven't tried it but I'll let you know. Trolly 07-17-2007, 12:13 AM Good looking out Rynoplasty 07-17-2007, 01:53 AM Ok, from what I have played so far, the games graphics are awesome. It looks like Dragonball-z animation (it has the same animators) but the gameplay is all rpg, with some very Final Fantasy like attacks and such (It is the Final Fantasy creator after all). Some of the music is in fact eerily similar to FF games. I was way more excited about Sakaguchi's other 360 game Lost Odyssey because it has the more Final Fantasy 8/10/12 style realistic looking graphics, but this game seems like it will be a fun engaging RPG as well. Some things are a little too Dragonball/cartoonish (I am not a Dragonball fan at all) but other than that it is pretty badass. You get all kinds of crazy attacks and five characters to start out with, all of which have a "Shadow" that you fight with (the Blue Dragon is the main characters "Shadow") and you can change your shadow to specialize in all kinds of different things like Attack, Gaurdian, White or Black Magic, Assasin, etc. etc. They also have a tension meter that when full builds up to allow you to do a "Corporeal" attack. Cough- Limit Break- Cough. These are especially badass looking, your Shadow takes form in these, or detaches from you and turns into an even bigger badass Dragon/Tiger/Bull/Phoenix thing or whatever it is for each character and does a big Summon like attack. One annoying thing is the lyrics in the boss music, it would not be that bad without the lyrics. I will let you play to hear this shit yourself. Oh and there is an enemy called a Poo Snake, it is a snake curled up to look like poo, with arms and legs and a spear. Seriously. Trolly 07-17-2007, 02:15 AM I'm a little past turned based at this point and I couldn't stand the 80's hair band boss music. Outside of that it was pretty cool. I'm not as psyched for it as I once was. Rynoplasty 07-17-2007, 06:31 AM I can never hate on turn based considiring how many turn based games I have loved. Manimal007 07-17-2007, 05:39 PM Thanks for the review. It sounds like fun, but probably not worth buying a 360 for me. Rynoplasty 07-17-2007, 05:50 PM Thanks for the review. It sounds like fun, but probably not worth buying a 360 for me. If you like RPG's you should check out Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey (which is also Sakaguchi-san's) and Two Worlds. Although my 360 is already made itself more than worthwhile, Mass Effect alone would probably be enough for me to buy one. I actually know people that are getting a 360 just for that. I have checked out Mass Effect. It just doesn't interest me. I like the Jap style RPGs more than Bioware games. I tried KOTOR and Jade Empire on the PC, and just couldn't get into them. I'll take a look at the other two, thanks. Rynoplasty 07-17-2007, 06:06 PM I have a feeling Mass Effect will not be quite like the others, but I love KOTOR so I can't say anything. Lost Odyssey you will probably like though. vBulletin® v3.7.4, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. |
