According to Gamespot now, the 60 gig is going to be discontinued after all are sold for 499. Then after that there is going to be the 80 gig only for 599. The 80 gig still doesn't come out till August though.

The guy that said there would be no more PS3 for $499 is from SCEE (Europe.) A guy from SCEA (America) said today that they will be able to meet consumer demand with the $499 60 GB model "for the forseeable future."

I wouldn't worry about it yet.

Right now Resistance Fall of Man, Motorstorm, Rainbow 6: Vegas, Ninja Gaident Sigma, and Super Stardust HD are available, and top notch games. Lair, Heavenly Sword, and Warhawk will be out in the next few months, as well as plenty of 3rd party games. Then you have Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid. Sony Computer Entertainment is the third largest publisher of games in the world, and there is a lot to look forward to in the future (Ratchet & Clank, Drakes Fortune, SOCOM, and Killzone 2, to name a few).

If you go to any Wal-Mart, they have dust on the boxes from sitting so long. The only reason they are going so fast on Amazon is that there is better deals than Wal-Mart will offer.

A lot of the exclusives are now multiplatform and games that are on PS3 have been already released on 360. I do believe you, but I am a Microsoft fan boy. I do plan on purchasing a PS3, but only for the Blu-Ray. I am hoping to see some better games(exclusive ones) come out within the next couple of months to really push me into getting one. The Ninja Gaiden game, I heard, is a port of the Xbox version. I am waiting for Grand Turismo and a few other.

I don't have anything against the PS3, but Sony isn't really marketing and making the PS3 a great console. I was a huge PS2 player and am hoping the PS3 can be better, but lately it looks like it won't happen for another year or so.

Final Fantasy XIII will make it worth it for me, but other than that there aren't really any exclusive RPG's coming out for PS3, which is what I really want. While 360 has Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect, Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, Two Worlds etc. etc. Which are all coming out soon. Plus the only other RPG's that came out for PS3 (Oblivion and Enchanted Arms) I had already beat the dogshit out of long before and am not paying anymore money for. Except for more Oblivion expansions.

There's White Knight Story and Angel Rings. I know there are more exclusive RPGs that look promising, but I can't access Gamespot or IGN from work to look them up.

Me too. I'm playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Motorstorm (and also some PS2 games) now, and will be picking up Lair, Heavenly Sword, and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune to hold me over.

Enchanted Arms was a pretty good JRPG for 360, if you like Japanese RPG's you could try that for PS3.

ps3 is $500 now. so if you buy a 360 and get online for a year that would almost be the same price. ps3 online is free. give ps3 a little time. i got faith. the ps2 games i can play are cool.

all i play is first person shooters online. actually the only games i really play are FPS. im addidcted to those games. i got oblivion , RSvegas, RFOM, and i never play oblivion. honestly i dont even like it. i walk around for hours and end up with an inventory full of grass and sticks and shit.

Fight Night Rd 3 is good, but it is really short. Plus it is better looking on 360 :popcorn: Also, I still don't understand how people can't like Oblivion. That game is teh pwn.

its cool but i like to shoot shit. it plays to slow for me, and when i play games i dont want to have to read alot of shit. the graphics are awesome but its just to slow moving for me. i like action. i like to shoot shit. not have some wolf run at me every 2 minutes. but maybe i didnt give it enough of a chance. im getting back surgery soon and i got plenty of time on my hands since i cant really move right now. so maybe i will give it another shot.

I also like to shoot shit, but usually in a GTA stlye game or a shooter with real crazy weapons like UT. All the ones right now seem kind of meh to me. Except the Darkness, I really want to try that shit.

Saints Row was an awsome GTA stlye game, as well as Crackdown. And don't get me wrong, games like Gears and Rainbow Six are fun to play. But they get boring really quick to me. Every time I get a fps I just stop playing after a couple days. I am looking forward to Mass Effect and Bioshock, as they look to breathe some life into the genre before UT3 comes out.

Also, I still don't understand how people can't like Oblivion.

I don't like Oblivion. I get into RPGs for building my party and maximizing stats, finding powerful items, killing the most powerful monsters, etc (what can I say...I'm a mathematician). Oblivion didn't really have that, other than the items, because of the monster level scaling. I thought that was such a dumb idea. I plyed it on PC and used a mod to remove the level scaling, but I still couldn't get into it.

^^^^^Uyyyyyy. You can still maximixe stats and find powerful items and shit, and to an extent fight the most powerful monsters. You just have to find a place where there is a Xivilai that is always there, like in Mankor Cammorans Garden. They can be a bitch to a lower level character. I understand where you guys are coming from though, when I first started playing Oblivion I wanted it to be more like a traditional RPG. Somewhere during the first 150 hours it owned my soul with the crazy interactions going on in the world.
