Since the preseason is starting in August it means that the best sport in the world, also known as football is almost here.

So, before the first game even begins predict the SuperBowl champion and why.

Meh, the way the NFL is these days no team would surprise me by making it to the playoffs. Minus Oakland and Detroit of course.

I was actually expecting the Cardinals to make the playoffs last year. Their offense resembled [on paper] the "greatest show on turf" Rams.

Kurt Warner = Kurt Warner
Edge = Faulk
Boldin/Fitzgerald = Bruce/Holt

Their loss to the Bears early in the year ripped their hearts out though.

I'm going to have to predict that my Bears manage to return and defeat the Colts in a SuperBowl rematch.

thats because they stole the best coach in football from my beloved STEELERS. the best Asst. head coach also.

by the way bro STEELERS>cards. :)

I would love to say that my beloved STEELERS will make it to the Super Bowl but with Mike Tomlin at the helm I know not much about him so I will have to see in time. with that being said here is my prediction for the AFC Championship gm, the NFC Championship gm, the Super Bowl. these picks come solely from last yr and what they have done so far at training camp and free agent pick ups.

AFC championship. NE @ CIN - with the addition of Moss to an already powerful team....... enough said about the Pats.
Cincinnati - The Defense has to come around soon to play with the Big Boys, the Offense has no weakness.

NFC Championship - Cards @ Saints - Drew Brees and Co. gets it done this yr.
Cards. Good team needed better coaching and they got it.

Super Bowl - NE v.s New Orleans...... Winner - New Orleans. like I said above, Drew Brees and Co. gets the job done.

Whisenhut likes to throw the ball more, he still likes to run, but with all the talent he has at QB and WR Lienart, Bolden, Fitzgerald, Johnson and now with Breston back to return punts and (maybe) kickoffs, he can save on Shipps old ass, Arrington can be solid if they gave him half the chance. now all they have to do is stop someone.

i think the lions may well surprise everyone this season. im not sayin they go all the way, but they may well go 10-6 and make some waves in the post season. either that or it will be another depressing 3-13 season. which would really suck, as i am on the fence about my backup team, the denver broncos. im still pissed at them for throwing away the chance to take the wildcard last season to give cutler game exp.

No doubt bro, we never recovered after that debacle.

Man i hope we're at least 2-1 by then. We open at San Fran, host Seattle then at Baltimore so we got our work cut out. We need a good start in the worst way cause the Cards psyche is fragile. I see you guys have Browns, Buffalo and 49ers to start - Steelers will be 3-0 or 2-1 at least.

Seems like our schedule sucks no matter how bad a record we had the season before. Conspiracy? lol

For the record I simply hate the Saints. Drew Brees is a great guy, but I think they are overrated and receive way too much praise. Reggie is not now, has not been, and will never be anything close to Barry Sanders. Get over it, ESPN.

nobody....and I mean nobody will ever be as great as Barry Sanders, if he wouldn't of just walked away who knows how many yards he would have right now. I do know one thing though, he would be the career rushing leader.

barry wouldnt have needed any more years on his career to make him the greatest ever, just an O-line and maybe a WR or two that could actually draw some attention.

as a side note, he is really tiny. im talkin like 5'7" or so tiny. he came into the store i used to work at to buy some stuff and he barely came up to my shoulders. super humble and friendly tho.

exactly....most of his accomplishments came on his own. Imagine the possibilities if he would have had an offense to go with him.

The only thing that separated Sanders from being the GOAT is the uniform on his body. I'd get tired of having to carry a losing team every year too.

wouldnt have been much different than in detroit, marino had just as little to throw at as the lions did at the time, he was just a shit ton more accurate about it.

Slug

He could have always just thrown it to Barry. I figure with Barry there, it would have taken much of the pressure from Marino, and offered a little bit stronger of an attack.

Looking back on my idea, I must say that it wasn't as good as I thought it was though.

switch barry with emmit and u got 20,000+ yards, 4 MVP's, 4 Rings, 2+ 2000+ yard seasons, 7+ rushing titles, etc....

i always wished he would go to my niners, him and young woulda won at least 2 Super bowls, prolly 3.

he had a terrible team around him, not just O. he was ina a terrible system for a RB. it was a run and shoot O with either 3 or 4 WR's and 1 RB. the first year he got a FB and a more conventional offense, he runs for over 2000 yards. He constantly had 8-9 men in the box, xuz they had some of the worst QB's in the 90's starting.

Cards open at San Fran and it's a god damn must win for us.lol Seriously tho we can't afford the usual 1-5 start that's been the trend ... to put it mildly. 9rs look like they could make some noise this year if Gore and all their young talent lives up to expectations.

Cards host Nov. 25 and i'm predicting playoff implications.haaaa

barry was a fantastic RB, but he couldnt catch a ball to save his life. trust me on this, i had to watch the lions every week and they abandoned the "throw the ball to barry" offensive scheme real quick cause he couldnt catch any better than the WR could.

My head tells me New England but my heart says Cincinnati. Hopefully, since Carson has the training camp and off season to get ready this year unlike last year, he and CJ can own every secondary in the NFL. D needs some help though. Anyone but Chicago could rep the NFC and I'd be happy.
