I played for 13 years and cant get enough of the sport. Anybody else watching the world cup?

umm thats kind of what the world cup thread is all about... but ya i played soccer when younger, my team won tons of tournaments and state championship. i kind of fell away from it because i played football but we always did well when i played, and i kind of regret quitting. i played since i was 8 until i was about 18 on teams pretty much year round

I used to play but never competitively; just with mates in the park or on school/university fields. Played either in a defending midfield position or as a full back.

Now I just juggle with the ball when I am bored and try to do some tricks a la Ronaldinho; and fail miserably.

it's more physical than basketball, baseball, and most other sports.

I have played soccer since I was 6 years old.

played everyday of my life from aged 5 til about 17 a please its not called soccer!
good old FOOTBALL we call it or the beautiful game will do aswell or footy when your a kid

Growing up all the kids in my neighborhood played soccer instead of baseball, football and basketball kinda weird but i played then and still play now when i can get some friends together...never played on a team tho which i kinda regret.
