MMAsterkillah 06-12-2006, 05:36 PM Who do you guys think is going to win? Who are your favorite players? and how will U.S. fare in Germany?
I think it is pretty easy to pick Brazil to win it. With all the stars they have on that team anything less would be disappointing to them. Some of my favorite players are Djib Cisse (out) due to broken leg, Cristiano Ronaldo, Zidane, Landon, DeMarcus Beez, Adriano, Robinho... I'm pissed U.S. is down 2-0 to Czech right now 35 min in. I think they will have trouble getting out of their group behind Italy and Czech
UbetterTAPout 06-12-2006, 07:13 PM the us sux

nothn 2 b sad bout, its game 1
legitballer 06-14-2006, 03:22 AM Whos favored to go the finals?
sidechoke_bob 06-14-2006, 03:54 PM brazil would be strong favourites along with argentina. england have a good team on paper but never seem to deliver as a unit. germany cant be counted out due to the fact they're at home and always seem to do well when the pressures on. maybe holland, france looked pretty poor in their first game whereas the spanish looked like theyre really up for this. looks like being a good cup.

spain looked great and saudi and tunisia are a bunch of clowns
sidechoke_bob 06-15-2006, 11:43 AM yea, spain looked strong but they have a history of always choking around the quarter final stage.the heat seems to be affecting alot of teams too so maybe this will help the spanish
nzjujitsu 06-15-2006, 11:45 AM Brazil will take it out
brashleyholland 06-15-2006, 12:47 PM Your all kidding yourselves....England takes this one hands down.

England just scored, but they struggled way too much in the 1st two games 0-0 and 83 minutes to score 1 against trinidad and tobago who is the smallest country in the tournament.
brazil is the favorite, ronaldo and ronaldinho are sick. My sleeper pick was Spain going into it. I hope they do well and mexico, also germany looks good and u cant underestimate home country adv.

Spain shouldnt really be a sleeper pick, I mean they are Spain. Germany has a chance, Mexico doesn't. Ronaldo is good, but hes not great anymore, I prefer both Adriano and Robinho to him at this time. He doesn't have the stamina to play hard for 90 or even 60 minutes at this point. Remember, he didn't play all that well this year for Real Madrid either.
Fantouz 06-16-2006, 11:55 AM Does anyone rate Italy here?
I think they are going to surprise a few people, they have been written off by most but I think they are just flying under the radar. They had a dynamic game and have potentially a winning combination; strong defence, creative midfield and consistent strikers.
I was disappointed with England yesterday, I really thought that we would do better. We can not rely simply on Rooney; our squad has quality players that are nowhere near being used to their full potential. Thank God for John Terry.
Fantouz 06-16-2006, 04:03 PM Wow, incredible performance by Argentina.
They made Serbia & Montenegro look like rank amateurs. Who would've thaught that SM did not concede a single goal in 11 matches during qualifications?! And Crespo was onside in the first half. Crazy. I am shocked.

Resin 06-16-2006, 09:25 PM The US will get there asses handed to them they wont make it to the 2nd round.
WAR Black Antelopes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
denshaotoko 06-17-2006, 07:45 AM us got owned
wave_mann 06-17-2006, 08:50 AM I'd like to see the US or Portugal but I dont see that happening.
alpha82425 06-18-2006, 04:34 AM the US program sucks...cause all the atheletes go to play other sports (like American football)...until they learn how to retain players...Europe (and Brazil) will own the World Cup
legitballer 06-19-2006, 01:25 PM The US still has a chance. They just need a little bit of LUCK!!

and a long-term investment plan to promote the sport and give athletes more incentive to commit their time to the game.
AllAroundSportsFan 06-19-2006, 11:08 PM The U.S soccer program certainly is still not on the level of the elite countries. However it would also be hard to argue that it is moving in the right direction. There are more and more kids growing up playing soccer in this country every day. The television ratings have been more than acceptable and I believe next year MLS starts getting revenue from a TV deal.
Chickenjorge 06-20-2006, 04:54 AM US-sucks
although they did good in the last cup
mexico- they got some good players. hopefully they'll do some damage. but it's kinda farfetched to say they'll win it.
argentina- they're playing great.
brazil- does just enough to beat teams, but doesnt kill anyone. there's really no way to know how good they are.
but they're the fav's. MY favs.
portugal- cristiano ronaldo= sick wit it!
he's only 21, and nasty status. i think portugal has a legitimate chance at winning it all.
Shoei 06-21-2006, 12:52 PM Portugal or Brazil is gonna take the worldcup
i still believe spain is a dark horse, not necesseraily to win but they can beat anybody
Scrap 06-22-2006, 02:34 AM soccer sucks.
eckopimpin 06-22-2006, 11:22 PM the us sucks at football
dum_dum 06-25-2006, 10:36 AM go germany
legitballer 06-25-2006, 02:05 PM GO GHANA! BEAT BRAZIL!
Fantouz 06-26-2006, 08:36 PM Has anyone watched portugal vs holland??
was that a great game or what? It felt like I was watching Pride.
legitballer 06-27-2006, 12:58 AM refs continue to have an impact on the game...
breakn 07-02-2006, 05:18 AM I was hoping that Argentina would win, but now they are out. Damn.
legitballer 07-02-2006, 07:56 AM HAHA! Brazil loses!! YES!!!
We in the semifinals, Go Italy!!!!!!!
fredinsac 07-05-2006, 08:13 PM war portugal!!
DevilJin 07-06-2006, 01:21 AM Italy all the way!
barbelos 07-07-2006, 08:59 PM sorry guys, I'm from Italy!
2 days left and here we go with the final.
I was 5 years old in 1982, so I just got blurred memories of that world cup Italy won.
hope to be waving the Italian flag on Sunday!
antonio_dangerous 07-08-2006, 12:08 AM im with you on that
Rockonkev 07-09-2006, 09:31 AM Dont care about winner anymore just want refs to stay out of it. Winning through effective diving wrecks it all.
I thought it was over for a second there. Offsidespwn3d.
Great final. Italy won by making all 5 penalty kicks. France blew it by barely missing 1 kick. It went off of the crossbar. It hit the crossbar and went straight down barely missing the goal line.
cdr1002 07-09-2006, 10:33 PM haha who would of known that zidane would even think about headbutting that guy in the chest..crazzy
Sure Dawg 07-10-2006, 07:45 PM Quite the way to end your career Zidane.
Rockonkev 07-11-2006, 08:09 AM It's hard to see why people are making such a big deal over the headbutt. Any grown man can take a headbutt to the chest is it just significant because it happened in the girliest sport ever, and acting like you got hit by a shotgun shot from the minorest contact is part of the sport?
Maybe if Zidane would have kicked him in the head and stomped him in the nuts it would be worth the review and talk this is getting.
I guess guys who shave their legs need a sport too.
Goodkidcc 07-15-2006, 12:35 PM Italy was definetly a force in the World Cup this year. Argentina or Brazil would have been my winning picks too.
Supperman 07-18-2006, 05:39 PM Go holland euro 2008
Joris 07-19-2006, 05:42 AM germany 08..
boogiemanson 07-22-2006, 03:28 AM i hate italian soccer, germany should have had a penalty somewhere in the 80-90th minute. a germany player was fouled from behind while he was at least 4 feet inside the penalty area. the ref called the foul but instead of a pk gave him a free kick.
shitty officiating this world cup.
also zidanes headbutt is the greatest final act he could perform as a footballer, what can top that?
