I have recently acquired a large number of lectures by the Teaching Company (http://www.teach12.com/teach12.asp?ai=16281). The lectures are phenomenal and are done by some of the most respected and effective teachers in the country. All of these are college level courses.

I know a lot of people watch documentaries, but I've found that while these take longer, they are far more informative and less biased. Documentaries almost always have an agenda.

Most lectures are 30 minutes long and are consist of 20-40 parts. Just think of how much you could learn if you spent 30 minutes a day in the best classrooms in the world.

The ones I have are:

Power Over People

I have more and will list them as I get them. I am torn in the ethics of this. I feel I should support a company that is doing phenomenal work, but I also believe that this sort of thing should be available to everyone (most of the lectures are over $100). I subscribe to John Dewey's belief that education is the medicine of society.

If you want any of them, let me know and I will upload them onto megaupload or rapidshare upon request.

Discuss the ethics of doing this here: http://ninjashoes.net/forum/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=22

I hate to tell you this but lectures are heavily biased as well.

I said less bias. And these are the most highly credentialed academics in the fields they are lecturing on.

I've been searching the internet for a free "foundations of western civilizations" file, video or audio, but couldn't find it. It's quite expensive (at least for an university student.) . If you have that one, can you upload it onto rapidshare?

Sweet. Good stuff. But I still think that documentaries and lectures have equal bias based on the fact that each person has their own view of the world and they express it. I've had two different teachers teach the same type of course and have come out thinking exactly opposite things.

Either way I'm arguing on semantics which is a waste I guess.

I think that the people who download the stuff freely on the internet from rapidshare and torrents and stuff would never buy the dvds. So the company doesnt lose the customers it'd never have anyways.

Also the knowledge is being spread. So i think its a good thing.
