View Full Version : video games make me sad.
Nasty Nate 06-02-2007, 02:11 AM yea so ima just rant here about how video games are made to piss on us. ya no i was fucking happy with my xbox, ps2, and Gcube. i was able to always keep up with games and play or atleast try out everygame i wanted too. i would go to gamestop every weekend and pick up a couple new games to try. any game that i liked that was around 20 id keep. and id only pay full price if i really couldnt wait for a game. but those games are all still mad good, and once you go to far ahead its hard to go back. you end up missing out on so many fun games. now 2 months ago i picked up a 360. first of all, i have never had any thing close to the amount of problems with any other system, that my 360 gives me. fucking shits i returned the first one i got within 2 weeks b/c the same shit. i even think that my xbox is scratching my games up. cause im lookin at brand new games i bought and they all have the same fucking rings around the inside as if the thing is just scratching them to pieces eveytime i play. and my buddy's 360 just completely fucking died like a week ago. fucking shit is ridiculous wen people pay wat they pay for the shit. makes me wish i never would have taken the red pill and stepped ahead. ima say fuck video games now, i had stopped playin them so much for a while. i just get back into them hardcore and now im keep hitting brick walls. YYYYAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH. if you read this all...im sorry.
RoryZilla 06-02-2007, 02:37 AM I have hit a brick wall too. Battlefield 2. I can't get past a certain stage. That is what pisses me off about games. Getting stuck and not being able to move forward in anyother way. Paying for a game then not being able to play it anymore because you will just get frustrated.
sherdogsux 06-02-2007, 03:09 AM my 360 did that shit too. i called microsoft and hey told me to get the intercooler. oh and its a piece of shit by the way
RoryZilla 06-02-2007, 03:14 AM I had a 360 get the ring of death. I was using an intercooler from the day I bought it. Now I am just going to run it how it is. If it breaks... fuck it.
Nasty Nate 06-02-2007, 03:32 AM well atleast i got it warrantied
twinmatrix101 06-02-2007, 03:36 AM if your 360 breaks just take that shit to walmart they'll give you a brand new one for free.
Games too.
str8jacket 06-02-2007, 04:54 AM They keep me out of all kinds of trouble so I'm sticking with 'em.
hotnewton 06-02-2007, 08:25 AM My friend has now had 3 different 360s due to them being pieces of shits
He has lost 5 games and Microsoft and Walmart will not replace them
Fuck... my Gamecube hasn't given me any trouble in 2 1/2 years, other than me smashing controllers when playing Mario Karts against my GF

Thats bullshit unless he smashed them or something. The Microsoft warranty on xbox's is 1 year and the 360 hasn't even been out for 2 years theres no way he could go through three. Plus walmart would replace broken shit from my own ass as long as I had the original packaging and told them I bought it from there.
Rynoplasty 06-02-2007, 07:23 PM The rings on the bottom of the discs are from moving the system while it is turned on. If you go to a place that has a mechanical disk buffer they can probably fix it.

No bullshit, he bought his first Xbox the day they came out and it wrecked in a week, second one wrecked after a month and now his third one works fine
They replaced the 360s, but his first two 360s wrecked 5 games that Walmart won't replace and Microsoft won't replace
P.S. How is it impossible for him to go through 3 Xbox systems if they've only been out for a year... that kind of logic makes no sense to me at all... like I'm fucking lying about a system I don't own or care about... I'm just telling you what my friend went through
Dert McGert 06-02-2007, 10:49 PM Don't move your 360 with a game in it. It will scratch the laser on it and will ruin the games. Don't buy the intercooler because those fuck up the 360 and will not be covered by warranty. Try to keep your 360 in an open, well vented area. Try to keep the back of the 360 from being blocked and keep the power surge thing free of anything being around it. That thing heats up very fast and needs to rid the heat, so keep that from being enclosed somewhere. Don't play it for over 8 hours at a time. That will really fuck up the system.
Those are the only problems that I know of that could help you from having your 360 from fucking up. I have yet to have mine fuck up and I have had it for over a year. I know some of these are common sense, but a lot of people put their game systems in an enclosed area and have them overheat. Plus, dust builds up on the fans and a lot of people don't check that.

i never moved with it on or discs even inside

Thanks man, good post
It just seems to me that these new game systems need to babied and put on a silver platter or they are going to fuck up. I've owned all the main systems since NES and have never seen so many rules when it comes to using a system.
I.E. Don't breath while the system is starting up or it can possibly explode, If you bump the system at all it will scratch the game and games that aren't even in the system, Do not press eject while the game system is on or you run the risk of giving your mom cancer, etc... and so on
These are supposed to be the systems of the future but they seem to be crappier than ever. Again, I don't know much about video game systems and how they work and all that but I know that after owning and abusing a PS2, Gamecube, and Xbox for years without having a single problem, these new systems seem to need more care than a $100,000 sports car...
P.S. You might be right about the Xbox scratching games because it was bumped or moved, but how do you avoid that when it is in a family room of a house of 4 with a dog, two cats and it needs to be out in the open to avoid overheating
hotnewton 06-02-2007, 11:44 PM i loved my megadrive
I had to do a google search... hahahaha... repped

When you said they wouldn't replace them it seemed like you meant the systems as well as the games. Its not impossible for them to wreak, its impossible for all 3's warranties to run out. which they didn't, 1 week and 1 month after you buy it is still with in warranty. Just some confusion.
ninjashoes 06-03-2007, 01:38 AM I usually wait until the systems been out for quite a while so all the overheating and other bugs are worked out plus the price will be actually affordable.

It is funny that these "next gen" systems seem to be a step behind the the originals. The 360 has had numerous problems and MicroSoft has only fessed up to a couple of them. The new rumor is that the 3 red lights of death isn't suppose to even happen.
I understand that it is hard to put your systems in an open environment when there is a high amount of traffic going through that room. I have bought a little Atlantic stand at Wal-Mart that holds a game system. I have it on top of a little stand to keep it from being on the ground. The Atlantic stand itself is just a bunch of rods. I have everything sitting away from anything that could cause heat to build up around the machine.
I really think that game system developers really need to rethink they next move. With MicroSoft already talking about another system, they should first improve on what they have. I have never had a problem with my NES, Super, 64, PS1, PS2, or Xbox. Hell, I even had a gameboy color that never fucked up. My 360 has froze countless times and some of the noises that this machine makes worries me that at anytime the motherfucker could blow up.
Nasty Nate 06-03-2007, 01:46 AM hell yea dude, effin ridic.

Good news, there will be a price cut for the 360's around Nov. I don't know if the Elite is, but the other two are going to be.
The bad news, they probably are still going to fuck up.
The 360 is like a Visa commercial.
This is how they said you can only enjoy the 360.
A 42 in. or bigger, 1080i tv - +$3000
A full stereo set-up - +$1500
Xbox 360 - $400
A couple of good games - $200
Having it freeze up countless times, having MicroSoft not fix it, and you spending all that money on nothing - FUCKED UP!!!!!
Thanks MircoSoft, but I will still be a fanboy of you.
Nasty Nate 06-03-2007, 02:10 AM lol nicely put. yea i guess i picked the worsed time to buy a xbox. i was waiting for the kinks to be worked out and the price to drop as well. and then well i got tired of waiting and folded. kinda wish i didnt but wen it is all workin fine i do really enjoy myself playing it.

Give it some time to see how much the price drops. Granted that the bugs might be all out, the price drop might be enough to entice more buyers.
The only complaint I really have it that I have a fucking update for games all the time. That takes away from your hard drive space. I have the 20 gig. I have no movies or shows on it. I have game saves, updates, and about 15 live arcade games on it. I have 10 gig left. For a week straight, I played Gears and had an update everytime I started it for 7 days in a row. That gets really fucking annoying.
I think this is why I am afraid of the PS3 and will always love my Wii.
Dert McGert 07-08-2007, 09:38 PM golden eye on n64>all
I fixed it for you. Repped.
