If You Were President Of Your Country

List the things you would try to do help make it a better country.

I'll start.

I would try to make my government constitutional for the first time. To make it, "...of the people, by the people, for the people". I would make it illegal for politicians to accept money from anyone but the government check that the people give them. Politicians represent who pays them and right now various corporations, unions, and special interest groups including non-American ones pay them.

I would allow campaign contributions to political candidates only from private citizens and with a cap of $100. per person per candidate.

A politician would be prosecuted if he ever aquired additional financial gain from his actions while in office. (The former director of FEMA bidding on Louisiana construction jobs or the former Secretary of Defense receiving no bid construction jobs in the country he attacked for instance.)

I would mandate that all forms of media open up time slots to candidates before each election time. And I would mandate a non-partison operation of this.

By these and many other changes I would make the leadership of the country more representative of the citizens.

I would also influence the NSAC and CSAC to require their judges to have experience in the sports they are judging. I would also have them change the !0 point must system from giving fighters 10-9 rounds to giving fighters a share of the 10 points between them for each round. Like a (5-5) round if it's perfectly even, (9-1) round for complete domination, and everything in between (6-4, 7-3, 8-2).

I would try to coordinate with various industrys to make America self sufficiant when it comes to fuel. I would have us change from oil to ethanol (made from corn). This would allow us to get out of the middle-east where we have been for decades protecting our oil supply and increasing the threat of terrorism.

I would make more prisons. Many like the tent prisons in Arizona. I would make child molestation (against young children) a life sentence. And life sentence would mean for life not 7 years. Murder against an innocent would be a life sentence too. If he had it coming it would be a much lighter sentence. Prisoners would be placed with their peers acording to crime. If murderers kill each other so be it. If rapists rape each other whatever.

I would set up tax incentives and penalties to encourage corporations to stay in the USA. Tariffs might be used to help us stay competitive with foeign sweatshops.

I would designate areas for the homeless to camp out. And make sure every American was fed and had medical care.

I would make it law that each bill drafted by congress would be on one subject without sneaking in other unrelated items to please whomever paid them to do so. (Remember Alaska's bridge to nowhere?)

It would be illegal to hire illegal aliens and that would be gradually and properly enforced. If nobody is hiring them they won't risk their lives crossing the desert to come here.

Interesting.

I have some questions though. You intend to pay off the national debt of a given country within two years, that is a bold statement and is usually backed up with at least a vague idea of how you are going to do it.

You want to get rid of taxes; everyman's dream but how will you fund public expenditure? Will education be private? Road building? social medial aid?
I hate seeing most of my income going to the tax man, but there is no other way to fund public spending, unless you start raising funds from overseas via Treasury bills, bonds, etc. which in turn would bring you back into the national debt that you wanted to get rid off.

I fail to see your alternatives, an untaxed state can not develop and will lack equilibrium; which would lead it to fail and become vulnerable to foreign and internal threats.

If I were president/ruler/emperor/king/dictator, I would promote decentralisation of government to encourage growth in employment.

and many other things such as environemtal incentives, education reform and restructuring of the pension system.

There's a documentary called " The Money Masters " I'm sure you've heard of it. I had to watch it 2 or 3 times before I really understood all the implications. Your looking at 3h35 minute history lesson. This is extremely well researched and condensed. Every country in the world in effected by these bastards.

Do yourselves a favour and try to really understand.

If you read about the history of western countries' involvement in the Middle East since we started getting oil out of there you might come to the conclusion that there will always be wars there involving western countries as long as we depend on oil as the base of our transportation.

That's not even mentioning our current reliance on oil for various manufacturing processes.

Brazil showed the world that they could run their cars off of sugar. The USA has the potential to run our cars off of many options of fuels (including corn based ethanol). We could have this done in two years if our leaders chose to.

I saw the leaders of the major oil companies on Meet The Press recently shooting down these ideas.

The problem with Ethanol and the like is that it takes more energy to produce it then you get by burning it. As of today there isn't a resource out there that can do what oil does. By all updated information we are at peak oil right now and this means some real bad shit is a coming.
