The WBC today ordered the free negotiation term to begin between the camps of WBC super featherweight titlist Juan Manuel Marquez and Manny Pacquiao. If no deal has been reached by June 18th, a purse bid will take place at the WBC Headquarters in Mexico City. It is unlikely an agreement will be reached between Marquez' promoter Golden Boy and Pacquiao's promoter Top Rank and it is even more unlikely that the fight will happen anytime soon as both camps have been eying different fights.

.................................................. .................................................. .

This is a huge event.JMM won their first fight,I know its conjecture but had he not gone down 3 times in the 1st rd & lost it 10/6 the fight was his.He counterd beautifully and came back to win 8 of the remaining 11 rds,not bad after being on the brink of a 1st rd KO.
The rematch had different circumstances though,Pac has undoubtedly bloomed into a better fighter since then & JMM may well be a shade past his best at 33.But like all greats JMM is a pure fighter & could well pull out a dazzling performance in the twilight of his career.

Manny all the FUcking way!!!!!!!!!, Barrera dropped him and they didnt call it a knockdown, and they penalized him for the hitting a down opponent ,and Marquez won a bullshit decision. Still a great fighter but Manny will win this. Hope his politics dont get in the way of the training if they fight which they will eventually.

PS: Hatton and Manny are my two favorite boxers. Cant wait for HATTON VS. CASTILLO - 6/23/07

JMM beat Barrera 8-4 and if you wanna complain about the BS non knockdown ok... They could just as easily and rightly called it a Knockdown then DQ'd Barrera's dirty ass on the spot. Or taken 2 points for it. So it worked out as well as it possibly could have for him. He got spanked. On this subject I think Pac has developed into a much much better fighter since their first bout. Hes fought Morales 3 times since then and if that didn't teach him a few things nothing will. This time he beats up JMM instead of getting screwed on a draw by a judge calling a 3 KD round 10-7 instead of the proper 10-6. I had him winning the last one by 1 round also anyways but oh well. Pacman!
