View Full Version : Me rolling at my first tournament
Resin 05-13-2007, 12:30 AM everyone i rolled against out-weighed me and also they were far more experianced then i am... them being amature fighters and all..... i thought i did good.
i won twice lost twice.... the 2 videos of me losing weren't recorded due to my friend not showing up on time for those....... for those curious i got rnc'd and i shouldnt of lost that match i was up ahead on points and if i would have been told i would of hung on for dear life for the win..... the 2nd i lose due to a kimura... i got my own hand caught in my shorts..... oh well.... im just really curious to see how i'd do against people who are actually techniqually beginners and not amature fighters.
i originally signed up for the beginners but there weren't any beginners except me and one other guy so they had to mix things up.... not very cool haha
Anywho thanks guys for watching peace.

knockkraut 05-16-2007, 04:25 PM How much were you outweighed by?
Resin 05-16-2007, 07:15 PM i weighed in that day 164 but wrote down i was 168.
knockkraut 05-18-2007, 06:51 PM How big were the guys you were grappling with, and why did you add the 4lbs. to your weight? Smaller field?
Resin 05-18-2007, 07:08 PM there weren't enough ppl in my weight class so they had to mix things up..... :Error Angry:
knockkraut 05-18-2007, 08:33 PM Man, I feel your pain. I weigh 199, which would normally put me in the middle of the 195-205 class, but the last couple tourny's I've been to, I've had to fight HW. Take it as a challenge, and it's a reason to be extra proud when you beat somebody. My record is beating a 250lb man.

Krahzee1 06-06-2007, 05:36 PM Man I wish we had grappling tournies like that around here, it would be fun.
you should get on your toes in your stance, you're pretty flat footed, I would ankle pick you non-stop. Good persistence though getting on the ankles.

If I wanted responses like that I'd have an argument with my wife.
In all seriousness, with your stance, if someone were to put pressure on your head, neck, or collar, your foot is planted and would be an easy target for an ankle pick, and with that slow advance you do, they could go alligator style as well.
Don't tell me you're one of those bjj noobs who has no respect for wrestlers

If you realize that all of that is correct, the least you could do is get on your toes in your stance, maybe even widen it a little.
just trying to help:dntknw:
Cameron 06-07-2007, 03:38 PM good job bro first tournaments are always exciting. keep thos wins coming and use your loses as building so that you can advance you game. i learned alot from a lose and the next tournament i got bronze so keep training.
