Puerto Rican superstar Felix Trinidad says he's content in retirement, but would be willing to grant a rematch to Oscar De La Hoya. "De La Hoya knows I can't go any lower than 160 pounds," Tito told Primera Hora. "That would be sacrificing too much and I can't do it. But I am going to tell the truth, it is something that is latent. It is still there. Everything depends on Oscar, that he accepts the weight that I've always told him at 160 and the conditions." Trinidad also stated that if he returns to boxing, it would be with his father and the promoter would be Don King, not Golden Boy Promotions.

I've love to see these 2 go at it again.Tito beat Oscar the first time so Oscar may well want a crack at redemption.
Whether they can sought out the 'conditions' Tito speaks of looks a little doubtful though.
We can only hope.

from what i understand about boxing (which is nothing) De La Hoya was robbed terribly in their first fight

*Also Oscar is on the verge of retirement by the sounds of it

i remember watching that fight live.2 undefeated world champs unifying the welterwight title,a superfight.
Oscar took an early lead over the first 7-8 rds with his faster hands and landed some nice shots but Tito took them all well without getting discouraged & kept on pressing forward.Tito began to get stronger in the 2nd half of the fight & swept the last 3 rds to get a unan. dec.
I remember thinking Tito deserved it & I agreed with the decision.

A lot of boxers announce retirement after a loss but after they have a good rest and get over it the boxing bug comes back.
Oscar can makes millions from a fight with Trinidad so its a definite possibility
he'll fight again.

Oscar won that first fight...

What cant be doubted is that Tito won the final 3 rds,Oscar was gassed & just ran, throwing a few pitty pat flurries occasionally.
Oscars stamina cost him the fight.

Oscar won that fight, he won so many rounds it shouldn't have mattered that he gave away the last 3. He put on a boxing clinic and got robbed, it was terrible.

That being said, Tito is in no position to throw out all these conditions, rules, and dictate the terms of a rematch. Oscar doesn't need Tito to make money. Tito is the guy who got absolutely humiliated by Winky Wright not long ago, if anything he should be begging De La Hoya for a rematch.

At 160 we will get the worst possible version of Oscar fighting a washed up Trinidad, thats one rematch that really doesnt need to happen

from what i've read about the first one, i'd like to see this rematch

And what makes you think Trinidad is wahsed up exactly ? I think he fits in nicely for a fight with de la hoya at this point in his oscar's career

What swayed me the most was the way Tito stormed Oscar in the last 9 minutes. Its like the fighter that flurries the last 10 seconds of a rd to sway judging in his favour. It leaves that lasting impression that he won.
However in hindsight whether Tito won 4 of the first 9 rds is highly questionable.

Tito actually sounds as though he's believes he holds all the cards.
"I would be willing to grant a rematch " & under "my conditions".The more I think about it the less I see it happening.
