I'm taking an astronomy class and our teacher keep showing us Carl Sagan videos. The best thing about them is him talking. The way he talks makes me laugh. It reminds me of Mr. Burns from the Simpsons.

I absolutely love Carl Sagan. I just finished reading The Demon Haunted World a few days ago. It should be required reading for everyone who can read the languages it is published in.

What that clip has to do with religion is that all religions conceived on Earth are very narrow with respect to the relative size of the galaxy, let alone universe. Sagan had stated he thought all concepts of god(s) were far too small to be even remotely accurate. His sentiment expressed in the linked clip (which still sends chills down my spine) is that things like national boundries, religious truthes and every other thing on this planet is so minutely tiny and insignificant it is borderline impossible to think we as a planet hold any special place in the universe.
