Learn to use uTorrent (Tutorial made Easy)
If you want to download the Contender files from torrent, here is
a very simple tutorial that will get you downloading these files in
no time.
The first thing we need is the uTorrent client. (Rated P4P king)
Download:
http://download.utorrent.com/1.6/utorrent.exe
You can download and save to disk and or download and install.
Save to disk always for me by habit so......
Now that you have the software downloaded on your desktop I am assuming.

Double click on utorrent.exe and install.
You will be greated by the following pop up messege:
http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/965/snap005kp1.jpg
This option of creating a shortcut to your desktop is totally up to you.
I will click yes and proceed.
The next step will not apply if you dont have a firewall.
I have a firewall so I get this following messege:
http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/7028/snap006at9.jpg
If you don't have a firewall then you wont get this messege and
don't worry about it. (But you should have a firewall) but that is
another story. Lets move on.
The following has no right or wrong answer.
http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/8360/snap008cl8.jpg
What this means is that if you are browsing a torrent site and you
click on a torrent link, the torrent client will automaticly grab it
and then start with a download. I rather not have this feature.
I like to copy and paste my URL into the client as you will see me
do just a bit later. I will click no and besides, I have more than one
torrent client set up so I dont want it to over ride or launch if
I accidently click on a torrent. So I am going to say no and move on.
You will now get the following messege:
http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/2222/snap009lx0.jpg
If you don't want to complicate your life just skip the first test.
But do the test #2 and make sure you have the ability to forward port
on port 20121
So click on Test if port is forwarded properly
and your browser will open up with this messege:
http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/125/snap009baa0.jpg
Hopefully you pass and you can proceed. If you dont pass? Cry!
Or ask for help.
Now you need to set your connection Type:
http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/3868/snap010sz9.jpg
If you are at home and have cable/highspeed/dsl, I suggest you set
it anywhere from xx/128k to xx/768k being on the safe side.
If you are in tight ass office set it to xx/10Mbit up to xx/50Mbit
If you work for the government set it to xx/100Mbit LOL
(this section is for HitBat to explain :)
Once you are done setting the connection type,
click on Use Selected Settings.(Very bottom)
This will move us to the next part and we are almost done.
You should see the following now:
http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/4343/snap012rc5.jpg
This means we are ready to download.
Lets say you want to download Episode 2 of season 2 that Hitbat posted.
Just copy the url:
http://www.bt-chat.com/download.php?info_hash=2955722fae71ba12797f9aec4c3 13fc54c4a7dd4
Click on the green icon up top left. (looks like a earth w/+)
Once you click the green globe it will grab the url you have copied
from your clipboard and then...
You get a new pop up in the middle
http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/307/snap014hh1.jpg
All you have to do is click OK and then...
Just one more pop up
http://img159.imageshack.us/img159/7978/snap015yp4.jpg
Not much to do here other than click OK too.
Just note that you can change the directory to where you save the file.
(The default save is set to go to My Documents/Downloads)
Well now that you clicked ok your download should start.
http://img159.imageshack.us/img159/5981/snap016wm7.jpg
Your download should be in progress if it dont start, force the
download by right clicking on the file.
That is it.
Hope this helped some one.
Peace.
