For the sake of explanation assume you hvae their right leg in your half guard. Ok so to establish the Lockdown bring your left leg over their right. then cross your right leg ontop of your left pretty much like a normal half guard, then take your right foot and hook it under their instep. This is the Lockdown. Next you'll need to establish what Eddie refers to as the Jaws of Life which is basicly double underhooks. Once you have your double underhooks. In one quick motion place your hands on their stomach/rib cage/chest area and lift the Lockdown up in the air as you do this push up with your arms and throw them foward/above your head. this will offbalance them and as they look to recover get onto your right side using your elbow to help, also establish a left underhook. Once your on your side you should get off your elbow and lock a right underhook with your left underhook. Nick16watt 04-26-2007, 03:58 AM Well, what don't you understand about it? Have you tried doing it yet? An explaination would be much easier if you typed up what part you don't understand. nzjujitsu 04-26-2007, 04:05 AM the pictures he used weren't clear thats all, SolitaryIndividual 04-26-2007, 06:16 AM do you get it now or do you need someone new to try explaining it to you xhale 04-26-2007, 09:34 AM i read the ebook yesterday and tried this exact move today... honesty unless the guys a flop hes not going to roll over.. i liked it however to allow me to sit up... i cross my legs... hook his right leg with my right, push up with my right leg so that his legs go up in the air and my legs come closed to my head.. then whip up... if you can get it then roll his ass over.. if not you just get back to guard ot sit/stand up. pretty effect tho. Nick16watt 04-27-2007, 02:24 AM It takes a lot of practice to get it down. The "whip up" is the hardest part in my opinion. rags 06-26-2007, 04:11 AM sounds interesting, i will search it out on google unquiet 06-26-2007, 08:29 AM I don't use it, but whenever someone does it on me I just think it's annoying, and just stay patient while pressuring my leg out of it. CJNewBernBJJ 06-26-2007, 06:24 PM I don't use it, but whenever someone does it on me I just think it's annoying, and just stay patient while pressuring my leg out of it. i feel the exact same way, it actually makes me want to punch them in the head, more than anything. Nick16watt 06-26-2007, 06:41 PM There are ways to posture out of it. Sonnie 06-26-2007, 08:28 PM I could never learn a move from a book, it just makes it more confusing in some ways since pics are 2-d and dont move SolitaryIndividual 06-29-2007, 09:10 AM there is so much you can do from the lock down. and the lock down with the double under hooks. there is the apollo choke has led straight to a sub, or a sweep and then a sub almost everytime for me, and there and the calf cranks and so on. i actually had a guy tap for the lockdown alone because of the pressure it put on his calf, he was a complete new guy and didnt know what was going on but still, it will make your opp uncomfortable Nick16watt 06-29-2007, 02:41 PM Definately puts pressure on the calf. I love it. Sonnie 06-30-2007, 09:33 AM nothing like a good calf crusher SolitaryIndividual 06-30-2007, 10:16 AM the kamikaze calf crank straight from the lockdown is GREAT. you dont even need the double unders hooks either. and when the guy posts his leg high up(thats not in the lock down) he is just asking for the old school sweep, the toe hold, the electric chair sweep/submission and so on, those you need the double under hooks for though vBulletin® v3.7.5, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. |
